  An Italian Hotel

  I read through some of the reviews and I review this with the caveat that this is a very European/Italian-style hotel. It's not an American hotel. If you're an American expecting a Holiday Inn where you drive up and there's a suite with 70 pillows and a full sized fridge, this ain't it. Did you come to Europe for an American experience? A lot of hotels in Rome are like this one, on the floor of a building.The room I was in was immaculately clean and comfortable. I visited in October, so I had no need of things like AC. I left the bathroom window cracked and closed the bathroom door and the room was a perfect temperature.The breakfast was likewise NOT a full American breakfast. It was an Italian-style, which is might lighter than we're used to: pastries and coffee. Simple, elegant, Italian, like the people. I like it, but I also am as my Italian husband says "half Italian." I think it's about expectations. I loved this place and the owner was very kind despite me butchering his language. He let me leave my luggage while I ran around the city.

  Terrible hotel. Stay away!

  Stay away from this hotel!!! We booked a room with air conditioning but the air conditioner wasn't working. We notified the hotel reception who said there was nothing theu could do and we asked for a refund so we could go to another hotel as it was extremely hot and suffocating inside the room. The hotel bluntly refused to refund the money and the receptionist was very rude to us and could barely speak English. In addition the room was dirty and there was construction work right outside our room which was very noisy. The service, facilities and cleanliness of this hotel are terrible!

  Excellent small hotel, surprisingly good value for money. We throughly enjoyed our four nights stay at The Nautilus. Spotlessly clean room, with daily housekeeping. Comfy beds and super shower/bathroom facilities.Continental breakfast was adequate, however dining area a little cramped.Hotel staff very friendly & attentive, with good knowledge of local restaurants etc.Great location close to St.Peter’s and Castle Sant Angelo/shops and restaurants.Would definitely return on next visit to Rome.

  Great spot close to Vatican City. Room was clean, however room was very small as was the signage for the hotel. There are two other hotels within the building on the first level and hotel is based on the second level with very small lift. Male staff members very rude on arrival and also after we reported our air conditioning didn’t work on a number occasions but never got fixed as both nights were very hot. Had to leave window open for fresh air but very noisy of traffic and barking dogs all night. We had a number of mosquitoes at night due to no fly screen on window. Not a great experience at all especially when you don’t get a good night sleep due to the air conditioning not working and no attempt to fix problem.

  We was at Nautilus for two days.It was a visit for watching a derby bitween As Roma vs Lazio and we choose this Hotel for his location.The rooms was clear and comfortable.It is gone be 5 stars if they had a little bit more quality at the breakfast menu.Recommended at all.
