    Stolen Gucci Purse

    rating19 Mar 2026

I traveled to Italy for my birthday with my husband and another couple who are friends of ours. The hotel is located in a great place but when we arrived the first thing we noticed was the website showed a bar, which ee found out was not the case. Also, our friends were placed in a room that had bathroom issues & construction going on next door which it seemed also ran over into the view from bedroom windows. Lastly, the day we left unfortunately my new Gucci purse was placed in a white bag for protection and when I took it out of the closet and placed it on the bed it mixed in with the white sheets so when I left in a hurry with all our luggage it got left behind. While we were being transported to Sorrento I noticed less than an hour from the time I left that we did not have the bag, I messaged my travel agent who spoke Italian to contact the hotel to please retrieve the bag & that I would pay for them to send it to me. I was very hopeful due to the fact it hadn't been an hour since we left but naive me the hotel conveniently could not find the purse and had no idea what happened, even though they said the room had been cleaned. Well since purses cant walk out on their own and I had witnesses that it was never taken out of the room....... I mean what other conclusion could one assume! Im devastated because this was a birthday gift from my husband and my 1st "real" designer bag!!! I did go to the police and currently waiting to hear from my insurance company. This was very disappointing and painful to accept, so I felt maybe writing this for others to read my help some. I truly hoped there were more good, honest people out there but I guess I was wrong. My heart is broken💔

We had the best time in Rome and our choice of hotel ticked all our boxes, particularly as we were only in Rome for one night.Brilliant, vibrant location, only moments from The Spanish Steps and walkable to all the main tourist sites.Great value for a spacious triple room.Helpful, accommodating staff and a wonderful breakfast to set us up for a busy sightseeing day.I would highly recommend Hotel Piazza di Spagna.

    Very Nice Hotel

    rating27 Oct 2025

Great hotel in a very nice area with many restaurants and attractions. Rooms were clean and maintained. Service was excellent. Tiberio at the front desk was very helpful and attentive to our needs. He was great along with the rest of the staff. There have been some complaints in the reviews about Room 106. Our friends stayed there and they said it was fine.

This is my wife’s favourite Hotel in Rome. Sitting on a lively street within walking distance to Spanish steps and piazza del Popolo with a good number of restaurants and also walking distance to Trevi fountain and piazza Navona The host is super friendly and ready to help guide the streets of Rome. Very close to Metro station and taxi stations we upgraded to a room looking at the Main Street full of activity We will for sure stay in this amazing Hotel one day when we come back to RomeGrazie Mille for a fantastic stay this hotel is very clean with a very nice super clean washroom

Best suited for a business stay, and given the other reviews feels like we were staying in a different hotel.

I have given 3 stars but for us 3.5 is more accurate and realistic for us.This hotel is exceptionally clean, the staff are friendly. Its location is brilliant, surrounded by restaurants, bars, cafes, ice cream parlours, designer shops and of course The Spanish steps. It is also in walking distance to The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and if you fancy a leg stretch the Coliseum can be made on foot. We stayed in 106. On arrival I made it known to the front staff we were celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday, it would have been lovely for them to have acknowledged this and maybe left a small bottle of wine or a hand written note anything to make my wife feel ‘seen’.Our room was small, dark, dingy, very practical not at all romantic or bright and airy as seen in the pictures. We couldn’t open any windows as it backed on to some stairs and not a pretty sight at all. The bed wasn’t particularly very comfortable and actually gave me terrible back pain and the pillows were terribly flat, I had to ask for another one. This room is best suited for a business person that need functionality rather than luxury. The shower was extremely small and in need of an update we found the whole room needed some TLC. It was tired. We opted for breakfast one morning, expected some table service, a choice of eggs perhaps with a cooked breakfast given it’s an extra charge of £12, sadly it was a very small help yourself buffet, scrambled, boiled eggs and bacon which were cold, a panini machine which was used instead of a toaster so the toast was a thin as a pancake, some yogurt, croissants, some cheese and cold meats. Given Italy has a great selection of cheese and meats the options here fell way below par.NO TEA OR COFFEE station in the room so one morning we had to go to the breakfast room for a hot drink which we took back to our room and we were charged for them on checking out.2 beers, 2 breakfasts, 2 Teas, 1 water the bill came to approximately £45 tax on top we paid a ghastly amount of nearly £90.Whist we are aware Rome is very expensive we came away from this hotel feeling ripped off regardless of how polite the staff were, how clean it was and how central it is.
