    Unpleasant experience

    rating15 May 2026

The location of Rael Regio Hotel Roma is great and very convenient, with nearby transportation and easy access to the city. Unfortunately, our stay was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.We stayed in room 414 and the AC was not working properly. The room was extremely hot, especially at night — we were literally waking up around 4 AM because of the heat. We kept asking the staff for updates, but they were not helpful and kept saying there was nothing they could do. They didn’t even provide us with a fan.We arrived around 4 PM in Rome heat reaching 29°C, only to discover that the AC system was actually working but had not been turned on. After repeatedly asking the staff for updates, they eventually turned it on later and told us it only operates from 2 PM until 10 PM. It honestly felt like they were waiting for guests to complain before turning on the AC, which made the whole experience even more frustrating, especially with how unbearably hot the room was at night.Their solution was to open the window, but the neighborhood was very loud and there was also a strong fish smell coming into the room, possibly from a nearby restaurant. On top of that, the shower didn’t even have a curtain, making the bathroom uncomfortable to use. Overall, the staff seemed completely uninterested in helping or improving the situation.Very disappointing stay despite the good location.

Great place to stay in Rome!

Stayed here for a weekend with my husband and another couple! A great location, with most places being within a 30 minute walk. The staff were friendly and welcomed us on arrival giving us all the information we needed. Would definitely recommend.

    Good choice.

    rating05 May 2025

Excelent positioned, near the Termini station but also by walk near the Historic Centre. Easy walk ti Collisseum, Trevi Fontain, Piazza di Spagna, S.Maria Maggiore Church. A bus station in the same street where the hotel is, with the line 492 easy to go to Vatican and Museums of Vatican. Clean, stuff correct, continental breakfast, our room was not spacious, but one travel to Rome not to sleep but to see as much as possible. Good value for money.

Efficient, friendly and calm under pressure

    rating12 Apr 2025

We just stayed 3 nights with a school group from Australia. Reception was efficient, friendly and solution focused! A special thanks and appreciation to Michellina in the restaurant! She was amazing under pressure, was always kind and did her utmost for us and other hotel patrons. Thankyou Michellina!

A perfect base for exploring Rome

    rating07 Feb 2025

The Hotel Regio was a perfect choice for a seven night stay in Rome: in a great location, close to the Termini Railway Station and main bus terminus, but just outside the main tourist centre, in an area that had a more authentic feel to it and with many local trattoria and restaurants that offered great value and seemed to be popular with locals. The hotel itself is a fairly large hotel, nicely decorated, well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. We were allocated a room overlooking the street, which we thought might be noisy but was surprisingly quiet, even in the day. The room was large with plenty of storage space and cleaned every day and we slept soundly every night (perhaps helped by the fact that we exhausted ourselves by walking all over the city). There was a lot of variety at breakfast - we loved the croissants and bakery goods - and, even though there were some large groups staying at the hotel, the breakfast area covers four or five rooms, so there was always plenty of space. What sets the hotel apart are all of its staff, who could offer a masterclass in customer service; consistently helpful, accommodating, and offering a friendly smile and greeting whenever we came and went during our stay.I wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending the Hotel Regio for anyone looking for a good mid-range hotel in the city and a convenient base for exploring Rome. We look forward to returning!
