    Decent Hotel for the Price

    rating10 Feb 2026

We stayed here for three nights in October whilst we did a quick trip to Rome (our first time in the city) Its a little out of the way and unfortunately the metro line from the city out to where the hotel is situated wasn't running which meant replacement buses which were about 55 minutes each way! The location is suburban and quite which suited us. We didn't spend much time at the hotel as we were really only using it as a base for sleeping and showering. The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel staff we did interact with were friendly. All in all no complaints, a decent hotel. CRISTINA ARLIA, Servizi per gli ospiti/front office at Hotel Roma Tor Vergata, responded to this review Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your stay with us during your first visit to Rome.We are pleased to read that you found your room comfortable and clean and that our team was friendly and welcoming throughout your stay.We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption of the metro line during your visit. Unfortunately, this was beyond our control, but we understand how it may have affected travel times to and from the city centre. We are glad that, overall, you considered our hotel a pleasant and convenient base for your trip.We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again on a future visit to Rome.Kind regards,The Staff

4 star hotel in the suburbs for the price of a one star hotel.

    rating08 Nov 2025

4 star hotel in the suburbs for the price of a one star hotel. The star count can be debated, the hotel really does have four stars because they have a restaurant and a bar. The hotel was not refurbished for a while and that is visible on the furnitures and floors of the corridors. The rooms have a mini fridge, cable TV - all Italian, hair dryer, shower. The hotel is otherwise clean. They have the restaurant on the fifth flour which makes some noises, also noises can be heard from the streets, houskeeping starts cleaning rooms early, but that is why they invented earplugs, which you might need in this hotel. The hotel located in a residential area, safety of this area also can be debated, but this is a world city, with 5 million inhabitans, what would you expect. Be careful as you would be in other big cities. The Metro sation is about 5-10 minutes walk, the trains are buisy in rush hours, a lot of people commute, try to travel in off hours, or you will not have a seat. I would recomend this hotel for people not for the first time in Rome, first timers might see commute a waste of time. On the other hand, grate location if you want to see Rome from the suburnian side. Easy acces to shopping center in the suburbs RomaEst. Use bus services which leave from next to the metro stations. There are shopping centers in walkin distance, pewex, conard, lidl, also McDonads and Burger King is available. Staff were friendly and helpful, you also can have beakfrast upon payment without pre booking. You can leave your bag after check out in case your flight is at late hours

    Poor Customer Service

    rating28 Sept 2025

We stayed for three nights. At a group dinner in the rooftop restaurant, we received abysmal service. One family member was hit in the back of the head with a plate. No apology received. A waiter used a (small) corner of the table to pour glasses of wine. One empty glass was knocked into my dinner. Without an apology, the glass was lifted up, wine poured into it and it was handed to the person sitting next to me. The glass was poorly wiped off as an after thought. The next glass of wine was poured with wine spilt onto the table top. The same waiter argued with others about what drinks had been ordered or were available. He mumbled under his breath the entire time. I would avoid this place like the plague.

Much better than expected after reading the reviews…

    rating24 Sept 2025

So after reading all the reviews after we had booked I was dreading staying here, but I was pleasantly surprised. Whilst the hotel is quite far out if you get on the underground on the A line at Termini, get off at San Giovanni and change to the C line getting off at Torre Gaia the hotel is only a 10 minute easy walk. Using the underground will save you a lot of money as it only cost us £21 for three days ( use as many times) rather than £70 each taxi trip. The underground probably takes about 40 minutes in total and the trams are every 10 minutes, they are super busy. Once at the hotel the staff were super pleasant and helpful. Staying in September the hotel was quiet. We ate in the restaurant and the evening meal was lovely and very reasonably priced and the staff were great. The room was a nice size with a balcony and while there is no duvet provided, you don’t need it. The room has a safe, fridge, TV and coffee machine. The shower is good with lots of power which was lovely and hot with shower gel provided along with fresh towels daily. The hairdryer provided was rubbish so you will need your own, unless you are lucky enough to be bald like my husband!! There is free WIFI in the hotel the instructions how to connect are in the main reception and it’s super easy to do so. There isn’t much to do near the hotel but there is a Lidl and McDonalds if you wanted something quick to eat and drink.but after a busy day seeing the amazing sights of Rome if you just need a bed to recharge your batteries then this hotel will be just fine.

A solid hotel for an Italy roadtrip

    rating23 Aug 2025

We stayed at this hotel during a roadtrip through Italy. Overall, it was a good experience with a few pros and cons worth noting.- Location & AccessibilityFree parking was a big plus. The hotel is far from the city center, but the metro station is just a 10-minute walk away. The surrounding area isn’t particularly attractive and was a bit dirty, but we had no issues walking to the metro (Our latest trip was arround 9 PM).Metro line C takes about 20 minutes to San Giovanni. From there, you can switch to line A for the Vatican (15 min) or take a tram to the Colosseum (10-15min).There’s a supermarket and a McDonald's nearby, which was convenient.- RoomThe room was small for three people, with a medium-sized bed.Cleanliness was good and well maintained.- BathroomThe bathroom was spacious and clean. The shower had strong water pressure. The hairdryer didn’t work very well.- Amenities & FacilitiesBreakfast was varied and tasty, with constant replenishment. The pool was small but nice. There were extra leisure options like free ping pong and snooker. The gym was a good addition.Overall, a solid hotel for a short stay.
