    Worse place I’ve stayed!!

    rating26 Feb 2026

Upon arriving, we find a balcony that cannot be locked. People can put their hands through it. To then be moved and have students running around the hotel slamming doors until 2/3 in the morning for 2 nights, we complained twice with no response. Only to have building work taking place at 7am 2 doors down from us, when we spoke to the desk their reply was the students are leaving soon and said to wait for a manager to arrive. While we wait for the manager to arrive the build work still going ahead and still getting no sleep. Spoke to the manager for him to skim over the fact of getting no sleep and the building work was still going on from 7am to 9am and said there was nothing he could do.Things we would have glossed over if it wasn’t for the awful nights sleep was:Handing your key in when leaving the hotelNo air conditioning 4 star rating that clearly is a 2.The hotel hasn’t been updated in 5/10 years will the decor looking worse for wear.Location not being very central to metro.Overall, this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in for sleep and customer service, and I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want a good night's sleep. Daniele Polletta, Direttore generale at Omnia Hotel Santa Costanza, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sincerely sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations, and we would like to respond thoroughly to the points you raised.Regarding the balcony, the structure complies with current safety regulations. However, we understand that personal perception may differ and, in order to accommodate your concern, we moved you to another room as soon as we received your report. With reference to the noise, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the group of students staying at the hotel. We do not tolerate behavior that disturbs the peace and quiet of other guests. I personally spoke with the accompanying teachers to address the matter and remind the students of the hotel rules. We would also like to clarify that no construction work was taking place inside the hotel; therefore, it is very likely that the noise heard in the early morning hours was related to the students’ movements rather than to any building works.I would also like to clarify that I never minimized the fact that you did not sleep; on the contrary, I expressed my sincere regret for what happened. During our conversation at the reception, I tried to provide explanations. My intention was solely to clarify the situation, not to avoid dialogue.Regarding air conditioning, the system is centralized and, during the winter period, operates in heating mode. The activation of cooling is regulated by current municipal regulations, which establish the periods of the year when it is permitted.Handing in the room key at the reception when leaving the hotel is a procedure adopted исключительно for security reasons, in order to protect both our guests and the property. As for the 4-star classification, the hotel meets all the requirements established by regional regulations. We understand that the style of the furnishings may not suit everyone’s personal taste; maintenance is carried out regularly and updates are scheduled over time.Concerning the location, the hotel is not situated in the very center of the historic district but is nevertheless well connected. We understand that the perception of convenience may vary depending on individual needs. We renew our regret for the inconvenience experienced and remain available for constructive dialogue, with the aim of continuously improving the service we offer our guests.Kind regards.Daniele PollettaHotel ManagerHotel Santa Costanza by Omnia Hotels

A dated hotel badly in need of an upgrade with inappropriate desk staff. But it's OK

    rating06 Jul 2025

This is an aging hotel with dated rooms that's quite a bit past its prime. The free breakfast is nice, and the rooms are very quiet considering its location near a major thoroughfare. The biggest problem, however, is the front desk people. The variation of the rooms is great, and we were there with friends. Our room was exceptionally small, the hair dryer and television didn't work, and the furniture was mostly stripped from years of use. The biggest issue is that the HVAC cooling did not work, and boy was it hot in Rome that week. The folks we were traveling with - for the same price - had a large room with a balcony, and everything worked fine. I went to the front desk and politely asked for a new room. The front desk person flipped out on me, and I was so amazed, as it was not an appropriate response by a wide margin. He asked if I went up to the room that our friends had, and I said yes. He then demanded to know what was wrong with our room - which obviously was easy to do if you read the beginning of my review... With an emotional IQ of a 12-year-old, he said that of course he would have to change both rooms for us and our friends. At this time, I took another tack - I simply looked him in the eye and said, "just tell me right to my face that you won't change my room, so I can then go to your manager" After a long pregnant pause, he said that he would give us a new room, but it would take a few hours. I told him that it was no problem as we were going to take the bus to the center and spend some time there anyway. When we got back, he gave me the key to a much nicer room and everything worked fine! We stayed a total of 4 days, and every time I passed the front desk the baby wouldn't even look at me. My point is that the completely inappropriate behavior of the desk staff seems to be OK with the Management. This is very sad. In the end, you will have a pleasant stay if you get the right room, but don't expect a 3-star hotel, it's more like a high 2-star. And if something is wrong, don't be intimidated by asking them to fix it. You're the customer.

    Good hotel in Rome

    rating02 Oct 2024

We stayed at this hotel as part of a group tour. We were originally supposed to stay at another similar hotel but moved to this hotel. We have done other tours in other countries and this hotel is similar to others we have stayed at on a tour. The room was basic and clean and the breakfast included is similar as well with some pastry, cereal, and yogurt options as well as juices and coffee. The only items of note is that we stayed here in July which is hot in Rome. After being out in the hot weather all day, we came back to the hotel and there is not much air conditioning. Therefore the rooms are hot and not much to do to remedy the issue. I would consider staying here again but never in the summer months. Also, this hotel is a little farther away from the sites in center Rome, so some of the taxi drivers wanted to add a premium to the fare for the extra distance.

Loved this hotel...! I will be back!

    rating21 Jun 2024

This is a lovely little hotel, very clean and comfortable. Shoutout to Emanuel on the desk! I live in Australia where wheelchair access is law but that is not the case in Italy, so there are no ramps. The staff are happy to help with your bags though.
