Good location, Tiny Bathroom, No Storage

    rating15 May 2026

Double room: The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable although the room was not huge. Bathroom was minuscule with nowhere to put toiletry bags or other items. No storage in room, no drawers etc, tiny wardrobe which resulted in us having to keep all items of clothing in our case. Breakfast was average with no fresh orange juice. Staff did not engage with guests most of the time but were helpful when approached.Location was good. Federico Bosi, Direttore generale at Hotel Twenty One, responded to this review Dear Sutton, thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Hotel Twentyone. We took in full board your comments in order to improve our level service. We are looking forward to welcoming you back again at our lovely hotel.Kind regards

    Great location, but disappointing bedroom

    rating24 Apr 2026

The hotel is ideally situated if you want to walk to the Vatican and old Rome. Our bedroom (121) benefitted from a large balcony overlooking the main road, but was very small and dark with extremely limited storage space for a couple - there were not many hangars in the small and very high wardrobe and there were no drawers for smalls etc! The decor was black and grey and the room lights were ineffective. The bed was hard and not to our liking. If you want to make tea or coffee in your bedroom, you will need to take your own supplies and a travel kettle. The restaurant and bar on the top floor boasted quite a large terrace and the alcohol was reasonably-priced for a city centre hotel. We didn't take an evening meal at the hotel, but the breakfast buffet, with hot and cold choices offered something for most tastes. The coffee machine offered plenty of tasty options, using real coffee beans. The housekeeping staff were particularly warm and friendly, as were some of the reception team. We would recommend this hotel for its location, but the bedroom was disappointing for the reasons stated above. Disappointing-I would avoid.

    rating28 Feb 2026

I would rate this hotel around 2.5 to 3 stars at best.During my stay, I experienced several issues and did raise them with reception. Unfortunately, I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I requested a room change due to significant noise issues, but I was told the hotel was fully booked and that no alternative rooms were available. However, rooms were still available to book online at the time, which made this explanation difficult to understand.I also couldn’t help but notice a difference in how guests were treated. My male colleagues attending the same conference were proactively offered quieter rooms and given options upon arrival. When I asked to move to a quieter room, I was told no, despite apparent availability. The inconsistency was disappointing. The noise levels are extremely high — not because of inconsiderate guests, but because the walls (both between rooms and facing outside) are incredibly thin. You can hear everything. If you’re a light sleeper or need rest for work, this is far from ideal. The bed was also very uncomfortable. There was no mattress topper, and you could clearly feel the springs. I had to request a topper just to make it bearable, and I am generally not a fussy sleeper.I had read other reviews mentioning that staff did not engage when issues were raised. In my case, I did speak to reception, but unfortunately my requests were not resolved at all just a "no we are fully booked".Finally, the Wi-Fi was extremely slow. If you’re planning to work during your stay, be aware that the connection may not be reliable — I had to hotspot from my phone to get anything done.Overall, this was a disappointing experience and not one I would choose again. Federico Bosi, Direttore generale at Hotel Twenty One, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay. While we respect every guest’s opinion, we must firmly clarify several points raised in your review.First, regarding room availability: when our reception team informed you that the hotel was fully booked, this referred to the specific room categories available for immediate relocation at that time. Online availability does not always reflect real-time operational room status, as certain rooms may be allocated, reserved, or not yet ready for occupancy. We assure you there was no intention to mislead you.Concerning the suggestion of inconsistent treatment, we take this matter very seriously. At hotel Twentyone all guests are treated equally and with respect, without exception. Room allocations are based on availability, booking category, and operational logistics — never on gender or any other personal characteristic. We categorically reject any implication of discriminatory behavior. With regard to noise levels, our hotel meets all required building and hospitality standards. However, as we are located in a vibrant and active area, some level of environmental sound can occasionally be experienced. When concerns are raised, our team always aims to offer practical solutions within availability constraints, as we did by assisting you with additional bedding support to enhance comfort.Regarding the mattress topper, we promptly provided one upon request, as guest comfort remains a priority. Bed comfort, however, is subjective and can vary from guest to guest. As for the Wi-Fi, we regret if you experienced slower speeds during peak usage times. Our internet service is designed to accommodate both leisure and business travelers, and we continuously monitor performance to ensure reliability. We genuinely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations. At the same time, we stand by the professionalism of our team and the standards of our property. We remain committed to delivering consistent service to all guests and continually improving where possible.Kind regards,Hotel Management

    Amazing stay!!!!!

    rating22 Feb 2026

We just came back from a 4 night stay as we had a birthday celebration. You cannot fault this hotel. On arrival we were greeted by very professional and friendly reception staff. As we were a bit early they offered to put our luggage in a holding room while we started to explore the area until we were able to get to our room. The room was amazing with stunning view from our massive balcony/terrace (Room 502). It had all you need. Coffee, tea etc.The housekeeping staff was always smiling and did a great job.If you are out for the day and come back to the hotel but want another glass of wine or anything else, I recommend to go up to the 6th floor where the bar is and enjoy the atmosphere. The Hotel is very central located. It is just a 10 minute walk away from the famous shopping street "Via del corso". It is a great starting point to explore the city. On check-out we had again very professional and friendly reception staff. We will definitely be back.Thank you Federico Bosi, Direttore generale at Hotel Twenty One, responded to this review Dear Guestthank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Hotel Twentyone. We took in full board your comments in order to improve our level service. We are looking forward to welcoming you back again at our lovely hotel.Kind regards
