Location

This city hotel is just 500 from the Termini railway station. It is about 5 km to Tiburtina station and some 10 minutes to the historic centre of the city. From Termini, guests have easy access to the well-known attractions of the city, such as the Coliseum or the Roman Forum. With underground line B, located about 50 m from the hotel, it is possible to reach the Villa Borghese, the Spanish Steps, or the Via Veneto. An abundance of shops are located in the immediate vicinity. It is about 30 km to Rome Ciampino airport and some 40 km to Rome Fiumicino airport, with a free shuttle service also running there (charges apply).

English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day.     One of the best affordable hotels we stayed at in Rome. Very helpful and friendly staff! Great breakfast with fresh, local fruits, cheeses, breads, and of course coffee. Excellent AC in our room! Great walkable neighborhood with some really lovely trattorias within a block or two.

    Having read a few harsh comments on here, I had to leave a review on the hotel. The first thing to mention are the staff who are absolutely fantastic, each and everyone we spoke to were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The location, in my opinion is excellent with its proximity to Termini and having multiple bus stops within a couple of a minutes walk. In relation to the comments about Termini and surrounding areas, we travelled back to the station each night after midnight and walked the 7 or 8 minutes to the hotel without any issue whatsoever. The hotel reception and bar area are really modern and spotless with excellent air con, which was much welcomed after trailing around the city all day. The rooms are a little dated and could do with an update but were more than adequate for the amount of time we spent in there. It was cleaned daily with fresh towels and for the price, we couldn't have asked for more. I would absolutely recommend Hotel Villafranca for a few days city break and wouldn't think twice about returning.

    We are at the hotel Villafranca now….. do not stay here!!We booked this hotel as part of a Gate 1 vacation and what a mistake, it’s totally misrepresented.The first room we had the toilet wouldn’t stop running and the window didn’t open. The rooms are old and run down, no modern conveniences. We moved to a new room and it was worse. The fake wool floors are delaminating and cardboard is showing, the power went out on the enireFloor. There’s nothing nice or convenient about this place. The hotel is advertised as a 3 star hotel but I think it’s a stretch to call it a 1 star.

    Perfect and inexpensive Hotel to explore Rome

    This is a perfect base for exploring Rome it is clean friendly and within a 30 to 40 minute walk to all the main attractions The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and maintained daily. A special mention to Donatella at breakfast who looked after my non gluten requirements

    This hotel definitely does not deserve 4 stars. Its glory days were probably several or even dozens of years ago. The rooms need renovation, the bathroom was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, and there were no power outlets near the beds. The photos in the offer were taken in the previous decade. Breakfast was the same every day for a whole week, with scrambled eggs from a package. The only saving grace was the very good pastries and coffee. For a 6-night stay, we paid €90 in city tax for two people, while the Booking.com offer stated €70... We were afraid to use the small elevator, and the other one was out of order. The only real advantages were the location and the quiet surroundings, which are worth two stars. I do not recommend it!
