    Average hotel

My boyfriend and I visited Italy this summer and stayed here for 3 nights. There are some pro's and con's to the accommodations. It is definitely not centrally located however it is a 8-10 minute walk from the metro line. It is located on the main metro line that brings you to all the main attractions which was nice. The closest main attraction it is located beside is the Colosseum. The staff was never there unless someone was checking in. They spoke very quickly when trying to explain what was around us and how to get around. The towels weren't changed everyday which was not very hygienic. We had to ask the cleaning staff when we ran into her for some new towels. The room was nice as we had the room with the terrace and it was very spacious. We spent most of our time sightseeing so we used the main metro line, however when we wanted to go into Trestevere (not on a metro line) for dinner we had to cab it which was costly. By bus it would take about 45 minutes to get there. In general I don't think we would stay here again only for the location. If you have a car then it's not a problem.

    excellent room in Rome

    rating30 Mar 2015

The room is excellent, clean, quiet and comfortable. The owner is very patient and nice. He introduced to us the neighborhood and the main sites in Rome carefully. Breakfast is included in a small cafe bar nearby which provide Italy breakfast. Bus and metro are not far, which connect you to all the sites. Also, maps of Rome is on your table in the room, very helpful. We spent a wonderful time in Rome.

    A DELIGHTFUL PLACE

    rating11 Nov 2014

Our 3 day stay in I Pini was ideal. Comfortable room, great value, convenient location, pleasant staff and also some great recommendations for good restaurants nearby. We were able to make tea using equipment just outside the room and were given vouchers for breakfast just around the corner in a typical Roman bar. This hotel is in a popular area and so you meet Italians and not other foreigners ! Bus & métro are close tho' it is possible to walk easily to the Colosseum or Caracalla baths from here.

Good B(&B) away from the centre

    rating09 Nov 2014

We spent 4 nights at this B&B at the beginning of October. The apartment is in a residential area and all four rooms in the apartment are rented by the owner. For check-in and check-out either the owner or his nephew will appear (both speak English) otherwise the whole apartment is occupied only by guests. Excellent information about how to get around in Rome, what to see, where to eat closeby. Very helpful and nice people. There is a small reception area and an equally small kitchen area with a coffe machine, kettle and a fridge. Free tea and coffee are providet. Rooms have a reasonable size, minimalistically furnished with A/C and a small wall mounted flat screen TV with Italian programs only. WiFi always available and fast.Bathroom is modern and clean. Shower is good and toileteries are provided. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels are supplied when needed. We didn't use the A/C in October but in the summer one won't be able to do without. On the down side you can't open the windows due to the street noise. The apartment is on a side road in a residential area, but every morning there is commuter traffic passing through this road plus the noise the garbage collectors make will discourage you from opening the windows. Add the ubiquitous tooting which the Roman drivers use instead of signalling and you get the picture. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to street noise then this definitely is not the place for you. Breakfast coupons are provided for an Italian breakfast at a nearby cafe which is not very inviting to have a leisurely breakfast. This is a tiny neighbourhood cafe where the residents drop in for a quick coffee and a croissant on their way to work. Two tables inside and two plastic tables and chairs on the sidewalk. You pick your pastry at the counter and order your coffee plus juice. I have no problem with the size of the breakfast but for the money you pay I think at least the cafe should be a better one. 10 minutes walk to the next metro station and we had no problems walking to the B&B even late at night.
