  Great stay

  We were a little apprehensive after reading the reviews before we left, however we have been pleasantly surprised! We arrived after a long trip and were greeted by a very friendly employee who informed us our room was ready straightaway. You walk out of the the doors of the bar into a courtyard and walk up the stairs to the room. We didn’t use the lift but found the stairs fine. Our room was clean, the beds were comfy and it had a coffee machine hairdryer shampoos and toothbrushes for you. Plenty space to hang clothes too. Whilst it could do a little spruce here and there we did find it very nice. The cleaners came every day and were very friendly towards us and our children. The reception team were all very friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic!! We walked very easily to every attraction and found some great places to eat very close. With young kids the location was great as we could come back for a little rest whenever we needed to. We would without a doubt come back and stay here.

  Early Spring Break

  Got to the hotel a little after 8:30pm; check in was straight forward and they explained about the lift (they’re right - it’s very small but you couldn’t put in anything else into such a beautiful 18th century building!!). The room was lovely, big enough with enough storage for a 6 night stay. The bathroom was clean and the rainfall shower was big and powerful. At breakfast the next morning I asked about gluten free options - they apologised that they hadn’t known (I hadn’t mentioned it at the time of booking) but there was yoghurt, fruit, meat and cheeses but on day 2 and for the rest of my stay there was a beautiful bread basket for me with a selection of gluten free goodies, bread, crisp breads and sweet treats. Coming down to breakfast became a highlight as the staff knew each of the customers and remembered small details like coffee preferences and thank you for always making sure there was cherry jam😋. Rooms were kept immaculate through our stay and any questions or requests we had were answered and responded to speedily and always with a smile. It was a wonderful hotel, located in a fantastic area of Rome and I was sad to leave.

  Perfect Stay!

  We booked the hotel before reading the reviews online and was worried about what we had read, but the reviews did not reflect the experience we had when staying here. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The room was quiet and we slept very well. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. It was my sister's birthday and the room was decorated which was a lovely surprise. The location was a major selling point, everything was so close and within walking distance which made the trip so easy and fun! I am picky when staying away from home but this hotel was perfect - i love it and couldn't recommend more. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  We booked a room on their website and in the description it had a balcony with a view of the internal courtyard or Via Campo Marzio which we thought would have been wonderful . Upon arrival we were given a room with neither of what was promised to us and that we prepaid for , rather we were given a room with a balcony overlooking a rather unpleasant , filthy courtyard full of hot water heaters , air conditioning equipment and ductwork as well as delapitated building structures and all sorts of unpleasantries , probably rats too ! When we confronted the staff the front desk with the obvious mistake , they told us to email head office and that there was nothing they could do . We did email the head office and over a month now has passed with no response , we even copied the hotel directly in hopes someone with authority would read it , but so far we havent heard a word from anyone . The coffee maker in the room was broken and when we asked for a replacement they told us there wasn't one , even at the front desk the coffee maker was broken so no coffee there either . On our floor there was a room that was being renovated so we took the coffee machine from there and left the broken one in its place, so much for not having a replacement . ! Our room had 2 king size beds but was advertised to us as having one king size bed , a waste of space and nowhere to put your stuff . The hotel was very noisy at night with people talking loudly and running up and down the hallways , very annoying ! The whole hotel is in a state of disrepair and neglect , the floors in the hallways are all lifting and coming apart , very unpleasant !I would not recommend this hotel , you won't get the room you paid for and management obviously could care less about you or any of your concerns .There are plenty of other much nicer boutique hotels in the same area that actually care about their guests and their experience .Il Campo Marzio gets 5 👎👎👎👎👎
