Not enough of a budget hotel to return

    rating05 Oct 2025

I am afraid that a third time will not be the charm. After a six year absence, I decided to visit Hotel Julia once again in an effort to save some money because of bloated Jubilee year rates. The savings was not enough. I knew breakfast was eliminated but you would think the hotel would offer a pot of regular perculated Maxwell House coffee (never mind those espresso machines) and the Rome equilavent of Tim Bits gratis, just to get you going in the morning. The on again/off again Wifi in the rooms in this day and age is inexcusable. But there are pluses...excellent location, walking distance to major sites and bus line is close by and a subway station is just around the corner and only two stops to Termini rail station.

Phenomenal little hotel with lovely staff in best location

Phenomenal little hotel with lovely staff in best locationWas there for one night and found this hotel nearby my event at palazzo Barberini. I had a large room with AC which was clean and pleasant. The staff was wonderful both Amedeo and Carolina. It’s a no frills hotel located in a great location with very polite and pleasant staff.

Never switched a hotel so fast

    rating16 Jul 2025

We booked 4 nights. We lasted 1.This place claims to be a 3-star hotel—no clue how. The only thing going for it is the location, which was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.The room was tiny, the bathroom was barely functional, and the toilet seat was half broken. There were ants in the bathroom, even found a few in the bed and some mystery bug hanging out in the shower. The sheets had a stain (yes, really). The room was dusty enough to write your name on every surface. Clearly, cleaning isn’t high on their list of priorities. The ceiling was one of those false ceilings you’d normally see in an old office building—just added to the whole depressing vibe.To top it off, the Wi-Fi was basically decorative. You couldn’t even load a basic page.We weren’t expecting luxury, but basic hygiene and working amenities shouldn’t be too much to ask. We arrived late at night and had no choice but to suffer through one night. Checked out the next morning and never looked back.Bottom line: this is not a 3-star hotel. It’s barely a 1. Don’t fall for the location. Just book somewhere else.

Avoid this cesspool of a hotel at all costs.

    rating16 Jul 2025

The individuals leaving positive reviews for this hotel seriously need to reevaluate their judgment. My partner and I booked a room for four nights but ended up checking out after just one night. This hotel is far from deserving a 3-star rating; it feels more like a scam and should be shut down. We encountered mold in the bathroom, ants in the bed, broken decor, weak Wi-Fi, and a loudly rattling air conditioning unit. We didn’t even bother asking for a refund; we simply handed the key to the receptionist the following morning and walked out. It is an absolute cesspool of a hotel.

    Clean affordable with good location

    rating15 Jul 2025

We were looking for an affordable clean location during our trip to Italy and Rome. Hotel Julia was on a Side street, close to Trevi. A small bar area downstairs and nearby coffee shops allowed us space to visit and eat. The rooms were comfortable and provided all the amenities that we needed. A good sleep and good location for visiting without breaking the bank.
