    Very basic but good location

    rating28 Nov 2025

The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Spanish steps. The rooms are very basic and some of the shower cubicle are tiny. We had to move rooms as at 20 weeks pregnant I could not fit into the shower cubicle. The staff initially seemed reluctant to move us and said we had to wait until the next morning for a bigger room, however this was resolved the next day. Beware that the drainage seems to be poor so the shower trays filled up and we had to stop the shower to allow it to drain before continuing. The hotel is in the middle of a busy road so the noise is quite loud at night. The windows are very old so not really any different having them them closed to drown out noise. It's okay if you are in a room at the back of the hotel. Room walls are quite thin, we were able to hear the conversation next door. Breakfast included and is basic but has something for everyone. Typical Continental breakfast with pastries, bread, cereals and coffee. If you aren't bothered much by basic rooms and plan to be out site seeing most of the time then this hotel will suit, however if you like to stay in more comfort and style then you will be disappointed staying here.

So much space in the city

    rating02 Aug 2025

My friend and I stayed in a classic triple room and had SO much space, which is so hard to come by in the middle of a big city. The room overlooked the street, but wasn't super noisy. There was a TV, air con, desk space, large bathroom, and enough space for us to both open out our suitcases. The hotel is located within walking distance from all of the attractions if you're willing to walk for 40 mins or so, but is also only 10 mins from the metro which can take you everywhere you need to go. The staff were really friendly, allowed us to check in early, stored our bags when we checked out, and found a space for us to change and freshen up before we headed to the airport after a hot day of exploring! Great value for us, and wouldn't hesitate to rebook.

    AVOID

    rating21 Apr 2025

Good location for the metro it’s about 2-3 stops from central Rome tourist sites Breakfast was continental buffet no hot food unless you’d include toast Staff very friendly but the room was terrible we asked for a double bed after we were asked on a previous email about the route to the hotel but arrived to two singles ? I’ve never been asked before 🤷🏼‍♂️The bathroom was ancient mixed tiles from the sixties and the bath had been painted which was peeling off 🤷🏼‍♂️cracks between the floor and walls no sink or bath plugs and a shower at the sloping end of the bath attached to the taps which sprayed water past a small glass shower door if you tried to adjust it

    Solid option - Great location

    rating16 Feb 2025

Hotel King, RomeHotel King in Rome offers a well-located accommodation option for visitors looking to explore the city’s central attractions. I stayed at this hotel for two nights over a rugby weekend while visiting to watch a game. Despite initial apprehension due to mixed reviews, my stay was largely positive, with the hotel exceeding my expectations in several aspects. One of the strongest aspects of Hotel King is its location. It is conveniently situated near a metro station, just two stops from the main train station, making transportation easy. Additionally, the hotel is very close to the Spanish Steps and within walking distance of several small restaurants and shops, making it a practical choice for tourists looking to explore Rome’s landmarks.I booked two rooms for a group of four and was allocated a room on the third floor—although the floor itself was higher than a typical third story. The rooms appeared to have been recently refurbished, with a modern and clean design. My room featured a shared balcony that extended along the length of the building, adding to the overall charm of the stay. While the room was new and well-maintained, it was somewhat minimalist in decor. The high ceilings created an echoing effect, which might be a concern for light sleepers. Additionally, the bedding was quite basic, consisting of a thin sheet and a thin duvet. During the night, I found the room slightly cold, as I preferred not to use the air conditioning, and there were limited extra bed coverings available. The breakfast provided at the hotel was satisfactory but basic, with no particularly standout offerings. It was adequate for a quick start to the day but not a highlight of the stay.Despite initial concerns, my stay at Hotel King was enjoyable. Staff were very kind and helpful, especially at reception on check in. The location was excellent, the rooms were newly refurbished, and the shared balcony was a nice touch. While the room’s minimalist design, echoing acoustics, and limited bedding were minor drawbacks, they did not significantly impact my overall experience. For visitors looking for a well-placed, clean, and comfortable stay in Rome, Hotel King is a solid option.
