    Mercure Rome Leonardo Airport Hotel

    rating29 May 2026

I just had one night here due to an unexpected flight change. The hotel was modern and clean. The staff were efficient and professional. My room was clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was good. There are other restaurant options in the area and a supermarket a short walk away. You can also take a walk to the port and beach area. They also have a shuttle service to and from the airport.

Friendly, helpful staff with an early check in and a great room. The shuttle service to the airport was great and enjoyed the restaurant and store close by.

Hands Down My Worst Hotel Experience

    rating20 Oct 2025

I recently stayed at the Mercure Rome Leonardo Da Vinci Airport Hotel and experienced a deeply troubling incident that I feel compelled to share. Less than 30 minutes after checking into my room, a member of the hotel staff abruptly entered without knocking or announcing themselves. At the time, I was partially undressed and understandably shocked and alarmed by the intrusion.I immediately reported the incident to the front desk, where both the agent and the staff member apologized, explaining that the employee had intended to enter a different room. While I appreciated the apology, such a serious breach of protocol cannot be excused as a simple mistake. No staff member should ever enter an occupied guest room without proper procedure. What made matters worse was how the situation was handled afterward. As a female guest traveling alone, I found the front desk’s attempt to “make it right” — by offering me alcohol and a shuttle ride to the airport — to be both dismissive and inappropriate.Even more disappointing was the lack of response from management. My email complaint went unanswered for over a week, and it was only after I escalated the matter to ALL.com customer care in Canada that I received a reply. The response I finally received from the Front Office Manager, Elisa, reduced the incident to “human error” and offered me a mere 2,000 loyalty points (roughly €40) as compensation.A staff member entering an occupied room without permission is not a minor oversight; it is a serious breach of privacy and safety. Dismissing it as “human error” fails to recognize the gravity of what occurred and the distress it caused. The claim that “protocols were followed” despite the wrong room being entered only raises further concerns about staff training and accountability.Offering a complimentary drink and a few loyalty points does nothing to restore trust or address the violation of safety that occurred. Guests should always feel secure in their rooms — this is a basic expectation of any hotel stay, especially at a property that markets itself as four-star.I expected a clear acknowledgment of the breach, transparency about the corrective actions being taken, and a response that reflected the seriousness of the incident. Unfortunately, none of this was provided. I would urge travellers (especially single females) considering staying at this hotel to think twice.
