  Very unclean, trash everywhere, refused to stay here on my honeymoon and receptionist was rude and refused to refund

  I’m in Italy on my honeymoon. Chose this hotel due to good reviews on Expedia and close to the sites. Upon check-in, we were rudely greeted by receptionist. Hotel looked to be in disarray. We went to our room. There was trash in the hallways, stains on the carpet and walls, there were no pictures in the room, but old clothing hung up is decor. Nothing like the picture show on Expedia. I’m not sure if this just got under new management recently or what but it is terrible. Went back down to talk to the only person there. She was rude. She showed us another room that was just as bad. We told her we would not stay here. She said we would still be charged. She was not willing to make any accommodations and showed no regret. Called Expedia and they tried to work with her as well and said she was unaccommodating. Expedia will refund a small amount, but we are disputing the charge on our credit card. Don’t know what has happened to this place butnothing like the Expedia reviews or pictures show. It’s terrible.

  Severely disappointed, walked out of reservation within an hour

  Very rude staff immediately when we walked in rolled her eyes with any questions. Room is much smaller than in photo, hardly any lighting and loud. Large stains on floors and scuffs all over walls. Their “decor” is not art as pictured but several hanging dresses which was odd. There were copious trash bags from cleaning they said until 3pm daily but were unattended to for several minutes and taking up much of the hallway. The hotel itself is tiny and smells moldy. The elevator fits one person and their luggage only. I have never in my life walked out of a hotel but we were there for under an hour and left to stay elsewhere. Convenient location by coliseum but that’s about all I can say good. Considering a 400 dollar a night stay, I am shocked this place can consider itself a 4 star hotel.

  WORST experience ever — Unprofessional staff, misleading "upgrade", and awful accommodation

  I rarely write reviews, but my experience at “Mytale Creative Hotel”was so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others.We were notified the DAY BEFORE arriving in Rome that we’d been given an “upgrade.” What they didn’t tell us was that this so-called “upgrade” was actually a completely different apartment a 20-minute walk from the original location — which was unacceptable considering we were traveling with large suitcases and had planned our trip specifically around the Colosseum area.Upon arrival, we politely explained the situation and requested to stay in our original booking. What followed was truly shocking. The receptionist Mayar greeted us with nothing but rudeness and a dismissive attitude. She immediately began blaming us for making and canceling reservations (which, by the way, their website and our travel agent clearly stated was allowed). She acted like we were inconveniencing her and made no effort to be helpful. Every question or concern we raised was met with sighs, eye rolls, and a cold, arrogant tone.When our travel agent called to assist, Mayar answered and continued her rude behavior — sighing, speaking with an irritated voice, and even refusing to give her real name when asked (she deliberately spelled it incorrectly on the call). Whether it’s a complete lack of training or something more concerning, her behavior was unprofessional and completely unacceptable. We couldn't help but question whether her attitude was racially motivated, given how immediately hostile she was to us from the moment we walked in.We asked for two taxi rides to and from the new location (since it was far from where we booked), but she curtly said the manager would only cover one. Exhausted and frustrated, we accepted just to get some rest. Even when we calmly asked how the reimbursement for the taxi would work, Mayar told us — with a glare — that she could cancel our entire reservation if we didn’t like it. Completely absurd. In the end, she told us to call the taxi ourselves and that the hotel would reimburse us via bank transfer. The different staffs communicating with us all had different responses regarding this matter: Mayra insisted that she couldn’t call a taxi for us while another staff said they would have arranged a taxi for us. And right after our check-out date we were informed that the manager magically went on vacation despite communicating with us the day before, and cannot deal with this matter. This is again very unprofessional and frustrating. WE HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING AS OF TODAY.When we finally got to the “upgraded” apartment, things only got worse. While the space was large, it was clearly poorly maintained and neglected:1. Rooms were dusty, with layers of dirt on tables and hangers.2. The entire apartment smelled like mold and stale air.3. Only one usable bathroom — which smelled like stagnant water— and the shower light was broken, so we had to shower in complete darkness.4. Dishwasher still had dirty, crusted dishes inside.5. Wi-Fi did not work in any of the rooms.5. Water pressure in the bathroom was barely functional.This place felt like no one had stayed in it for months. It was far from the quality and location we had originally booked, and yet we were treated like we were the problem.Mytale Creative Hotel's service was not just disappointing — it was disrespectful and unprofessional. Avoid this hotel at all costs, especially if you value decent hospitality and basic cleanliness. There are plenty of better-run hotels in Rome — do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

  Nice hotel in a great location, recommended.

  Located in a great position, everything is accessible with a short walk. Nice comfortable hotel, our room was spacious with a nice big bathroom. Outside the hotel there is a Piazza where the bar near the hotel has the guests sit to drink, however we could not hear the noise from our room on the second floor.In the room everything was really clean, there is a large shower, which is always nice, and towels, robes, hairdryer and free toiletries all included. Also included in the room a coffee machine with coffee, and a cattle with free tea. Available also, on a charge, the mini fridge beverages. All the staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast is served on the rooftop which is open between 7:00am and 11:00am, nice range of food but it could be slightly improved, some did not look fresh, however we had a great experience with the staff member that served us on our stay.The rooftop is also open in the evening until 11:00pm to enjoy some drinks, however, considering that this is for hotel guests, I would have expected the price to be more reasonable and not as expensive or more that pubs or clubs.

  Perfect hotel and amazing breakfast!

  Fantastic location and super friendly staff. This hotel was perfect for our short stay in Rome. The rooms were clean and large, also air conditioned well for the heat! Our highlight was the breakfast made by the chef Roman, it was an amazing spread on the rooftop. Staff were so accommodating and organised our transfer to the airport.
