This elegant luxury hotel offers a welcome retreat at the heart of the city along the pedestrianised zone within a short distance of the most significant government buildings, parliament and the offices of the Prime Minister and Senate. In addition, the hotel lies just steps away from the best shopping area of the city as well as the most important sightseeing attractions, such as the Roman Forum, the Fontana di Trevi, the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance. A stop for public transport is situated in the immediate vicinity. Ciampino airport and Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) airport are only around 30 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1700. 95 non-smoking rooms, including 6 junior suites and 6 single rooms, are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     What a fantastic hotel. We stayed for 6 nights in an executive room from the 9th May, 2026. The staff in all departments were great, the room was great, the location was great. The location was quiet as well. We really couldn't fault this place. The location was perfect.....as it wasn't far to walk to many famous sites and to many, many restaurants. We loved our stay. 🇦🇺

    This hotel is in a great location being within easy walking distance of many of the ‘sights’.The decor is in keeping with the age and grandeur of the building yet manages to be very comfortable with all the amenities one could desire.Everything is very clean with all staff ensuring that guests are made very welcome.Breakfast is buffet style with ample choice.Despite being in the centre of the city the hotel is very quiet

    Most of my hotel reviews end with the words “When we return, we will definitely stay here again”. My guilty confession is this - I don’t always do that. On longer reflection, perhaps the location of another hotel could be better? Or perhaps it was an overly fussy rigmarole at breakfast or any other minor niggle? It could be a tiny thing that prevents me from booking again. The Hotel Nazionale is the absolute exception. Since our first stay (so many years ago) we have returned to the Nazionale six times - it is that good.Saying that, would it be the hotel for you? Well if you’re a “gym-bunny” for example (it hasn’t got one) or like the “modernist” style, it may not be. If however, you value excellent personal service, a location that (IMHO) is unbeatable, then this is the hotel you should book. Step out of the hotel and note the ancient Egyptian obelisk, once a Roman sun-dial, a few steps more and you are gazing at the column of Marcus Aurelius. Turn right instead of left and you’re in front of the Pantheon (passing one of Rome’s top two coffee establishments). A couple of minutes past the column and you’re at the Trevi Fountain. Tired of all the history and need a little “retail therapy”? The Corso (and a little further the via Condotti) are steps away from the hotel. Last but not least, Giolitti and its famous ice creams (a little over-hyped in my opinion) is literally just around the corner. I also think the Nazionale to be very competitively priced, when you consider its amenities and location. We visit Rome a lot and since discovering the Nazionale - would stay nowhere else.
