  very disappointing not a 4 star hotel

  reception staff unwelcoming and unhelpful. Bedroom needs more electric points and placed where you can easily reach them not at floor level.no information about using the television nor how to use the telephone not even how to call reception. no chairs or tables on the balcony , after 2 requests we eventually got 2 chairs. Dining room staff need proper training, a waiter did not know how to use a cork screw. we had to open the bottle ourselves. Menu was limited and poor quality of food , cockerel dish was inedible and the meat tough, at 1945 we were told that there was only a choice of 2 deserts both chocolate, we wanted the tart and we were told this was not available , but we then noticed a lot of tart dishes put. out and these were for a football team having a meal, there was not even ice cream on the menu. breakfast the scrambled egg was cold and one morning no plain croissants, also why no china cups and saucers only paper ones. the only thing that was good was the service we received from Hassan who was professional, kind and helpful. we feel sorry for the restaurant manager who tried her best to be helpful to us.   A nice hotel, on the outskirts of Rome.

  The Aran Occidental is a pleasant place to stay, a quiet neighbourhood on the outskirts of Rome, and the centre of Rome is easy to reach by bus and train. The check in went very smoothly, with friendly staff. The room: good, clean sheets and linen and a good upkeep.On our last evening,we went to the Hotel restaurant, which is on the 7th floor,and gives you a nice 360° view of the surroundings. A special mention to our waitress in the evening, she was professional and friendly, sadly enough I forgot her name.   Pleasant but disappointing

  Location is a bus and metro ride from the city in a quiet residential area. Would be helpful to have a shuttle bus once a day maybe but the public transport is easy enough to use. Approx 50 mins to the Colloseum. The atmosphere in the hotel os nice, the staff were lovely. The room was tired and a couple of things were broken. We were supposed to receove an upgrade but im not sure we did. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room which we missed. The hotel was always super clean. You could hear when the adjacent rooms or upstairs were moving around or using the bathroom so not an amazing sleep some nights. There is no pool or outdoor lounge area. Breakfast was great, lots of options, but dinner in the hotel restaurant was very disappointing for the price and the choice of wine is very small. For what I ended up paying for the package holiday (not directly the hotel), i could have got much better value for money sadly.   Unfortunately, **we won’t be staying here again**.

  We recently stayed at this hotel in Spain as two couples, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing from start to finish.On our **first day**, it took **over an hour just to get into our room** because the **door lock and key system were broken**. After a long journey this was extremely frustrating, and there didn’t seem to be much urgency to resolve it.Unfortunately, the problems continued. The **same issue happened again on the second day**, and by the **third day it had become such a joke** that we had to ask to move rooms. While the staff did move us, the so-called **“upgrade” was actually worse** – the room was **dirty and smelled strongly of cigarettes**, which made it very unpleasant to stay in.The **breakfast experience was also very poor**. One morning we went down at **8:45am**, well within the normal breakfast hours, only to find that **most of the food had already run out** – including basic items like **eggs and bread**. When we asked staff if more would be brought out, the response was simply **“all gone”**, which is surprising for a hotel serving breakfast to guests.Another issue was the **bar pricing**, which seemed inconsistent. **Drinks were charged at different prices on different nights**, which left us confused about what the actual prices were supposed to be.Overall, between the **room access problems, the dirty replacement room, the poor breakfast service, and inconsistent bar pricing**, the stay fell far below expectations.Unfortunately, **we won’t be staying here again**.   A good hotel for business trips. It's clean and tidy. We missed a pool, and the remote location proved to be a bit of a challenge. We found an attractive offer with half-board, which made up for the inconvenience.
