Older Hotel Close to Airport (FCO)

    rating25 May 2026

We stayed here as it was close to the airport and we had an early flight out the next morning. Unfortunately, we were here on a Sunday and there is nothing within walking distance for food - restaurant or grocery, except the restaurant at the Holiday Inn (next door). The room was fine and the building itself older but fine for our purposes. They gave us a bag breakfast since we left early (before the buffet opened) and the two gentleman who checked us in were pleasant.

Would not come back here again.

The check in went smooth, but no service from the two male reception whatsoever. This is Italian hospitality ?Room E27 was located in outside building. Room was big enough, but the kitchenette had absolutely nothin inside.Water boiler and some coffee and tea bags was it.The room smell old, and was rather humid !! Just for one night was okay, but certainly not for a few days more.Breakfast was rather boring, some bread that was really dry, cheese had no taste !alot of napkins and table cloth on the buffet looked rather bad color mixed.Noticed that the female blond women server ( no name tag ) told us to sit right next to the kitchen where they came out back and forth ( really annoying thing) also asked Italians guest ( 2 guys ) if they wanted to have coffee ! But she didnt asked us even though we arrived there before them !! Now is that friendly hospitality, or just plain simply being provocative ? I dont know but if you ask me thats wasnt very pleasent thing to do.Must be Italian hospitality when its best i presume.Check out was just also like ( we dont care feeling ) we ask kindly of we could check out perhaps 1-2 hours later they told us everything was fully booked…..That kinda ( i dont care feeling is not okay ) we decided to taxi to the port instead ! That way didnt leave Rome with a bad feeling as i remember that kinda service they provided us.We will not choose theis hotel again for sure, left us with a bad memory for parco de medici.

Very neat and clean hotel, well connected to city and airport through direct trains

    rating07 Oct 2024

All the negative comments about this hotel are 4-5 years old. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in 2024, and the rooms were very spacious, with neat and clean beds, a bathroom with good amenities. There was a separate cooking section in the room equipped with a refrigerator and hot plates, which was a convenient feature. The only downside was that the room lights which i found a little bit insufficient to properly illuminate the space. Also, the complimentary 0.5-liter water bottle was only provided on the first day.The breakfast, like at many Italian hotels, consisted of breads, croissants, milk, juice, fruits, cornflakes, coffee and cheese, which I found to be healthy and sufficient. The hotel is located at 5-10 min walk from Muratella railway station, from where you can reach Fiumicino Airport in just 20 minutes for only €8 via direct trains. This station is also well-connected to Roma Termini and Roma Tiburtina which are the main stations in Rome and you can reach there in only €1 buy booking tickets through Trenitalia website . From Roma Termini and Roma Tiburtina you can catch direct trains to Milan, Venice, Florence, Naples, and more.

Big rooms, nice staff - on the outskirts

    rating21 Apr 2023

We were traveling with a group of students from the US and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel after reading the last few reviews. Our rooms were very large with balconies that overlooked a football field or the pool area. The beds were firm but we checked the mattresses and they appeared clean (and some seemed to be brand new, perhaps in response to earlier reviews?). The bathroom was clean with a tub/shower that had ample hot water and water pressure and we were provided with four towels for two guests; although they were on the thin side they did the job (we don't use washcloths so unlike prior reviewers this was not an issue for us); there was also bar soap and small containers of body wash/shampoo provided. There was a cute little kitchen area (but we didn't use it) that contained a microwave, a small fridge, and a hot pot with teas and sugars (but no coffee or creamer - perhaps an area of improvement?). We heard no noise, either from outside or from other rooms, and the TV worked fine. There were two lifts that operated well and quickly, which was especially important for our group with lots of luggage. The breakfast was small but had delicious chocolate croissants that we all greatly enjoyed. We had a specified breakfast area and time for our group, but we adhered to the time and did not experience any issues. The staff was very nice and even provided a croissant on a small dish with a candle (and a lighter) so we could sing Happy Birthday to one of our kids! The hotel is on the outskirts of the city, so prior reviewers are correct in saying that it is not near anything and requires driving - but this is what we prefer as there isn't anything nearby that the kids wanted to sneak off and do! We greatly enjoyed our stay!

"This is a very average Hotel"

    rating26 Nov 2018

I stayed here with my wife as she was on a work trip for a few days and this hotel was close by. When we arrived, there was an older man who served us at the counter. He was quite rude, he didn't smile, and he wasn't welcoming at all. When he checked us in, we went to our room to find that there were 2 x single beds in the room, and the room had a strong cigarette smell. We went straight back to reception, and advised the man that we were married and we would like a double, and a different room. So they changed our room. We were there for 5 days and I could not get the free wi-fi to work at all the whole time we were there. THis place is very remote. There is a holiday inn close by whcih has a store inside where you can buy some small groceries. And be aware that Muratella train station does NOT have a ticketing machine on there. We asked a man on the platform who told us we had to walk up the road a bit and to the left. So from the back of the platform on the side heading into Rome, we walked maybe 1km and found a bar/restaurant. I went inside and there was a small store. They sold train tickets(I asked a man outside). We were told that the small store in the Holiday Inn sells tickets as well, but the day we went in there to buy some, he had sold out of them (like they are in high demand).Anyway, if you are coming to Rome for leisure, I would highly recommend to stay closer to the city, and don't stay at this hotel unless you are really desparate.
