  Quaint and basic, but meets the need.

  We had read the reviews first, and were not expecting 5-star performance, but overall our experience was better than some reviews suggested.Pretty good location at Northern end of the popular tourist precinct, walking distance to almost all the big attractions (even allowing for getting lost in the old rambling laneways).A small boutique hotel that was clean, reasonably quiet for a city location near a major road (but there is a live band across the road every night). Everything is dated and some bits need some maintenance, but this is common in older buildings in ancient cities. At least the plumbing works.The room was bigger than we expected from past experience of inner-city Roman hotels. Breakfast needs some re-thinking. Cold cuts and pastries meant you wouldn't go away hungry, but the absence of a hot menu was unexpected. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, but staff gave us hot water when we requested.In this day and age, shower curtains are not often seen even in the older hotels, and this was the biggest criticism that we could make.There is a receptionist at the desk 24/7. Ultimately, it is the staff who make or break a hotel's reputation, and we found all the staff friendly and helpful.We had dinner at a little street cafe just across the road, and were surprised to see that our hotel was providing the meals from their little restaurant inside the hotel. But evening meals in Roma are meant to be taken outdoors whenever the weather permits.Bottom line - you get what you pay for, and this little hotel was better than some of our past experiences of mid-budget accommodation in Rome.

  Avoid this hotel at all costsStaff does not say hello or reply to greetings , we were greeted with PASSPORT . The conversation at the check in ended thereThe wifi was working intermittently and when it was working is was slow . There were 3 different hotel wifi and all of them had the same problemThe room doesn't resemble the pictures one bit. We got into a derelict small old room. The aircon from the 70s was loud , not working and  useless anyway. We had no aircon in early summer.The walls are sketchy and smudged with dirt around. Premises were not clean at arrival . The shower head is not fixed on the wall making it horrific to shower.Incredibly noisy at nighttime both from outside and indoor noises.Breakfast was ok.

  Not great but not bad either

  Room was nice enough. It seems they are trying to update them. Bathroom door would not lock which was a minor inconvenience. Seems hard to find anywhere with decent air conditioning and our room was no different. It was warm during the day and it was cooler outside at night than in the room. However, the staff is very nice and allowed us a slightly later check out due to having a tour at the Vatican. They also had a nice selection at breakfast and plenty of coffee selections. We chose this hotel due to its closeness to Rome Termini. We were also able to walk to all of the attractions inside Rome. Most everything was less than 2 kilometers. The hotel also offered great recommendations for local restaurants outside of the tourist area.

  Hotel is very convenient and close to historic sights such us the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum and the Spanish Steps. It's easily accessible to the Roma Termini station. The room we were given was half refurbished room but it was still dated. The hotel itself needs a full refurbishment.On the positive, breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful, the cleaners cleaned the room daily (with fresh linen and toiletries being provided), maintenance staff were very prompt when needed, reception staff were average (you don't get much help from them). Also, there's no luggage help. From the lifts, you have to walk two flights of stairs with your luggage. Overall, it was an okay hotel.

  Very old hotel. Wifi was intermittent. Unable to watch tv as signal was weak or non existent-was told that the technician would fix it that day but 24hrs later it still was not fixed. The air conditioner was in the wall below the window and behind a curtain, so it was blowing cool air straight onto the window and not the rest of the room. The shower was tiny. My 65kg hubby just got inside- I couldn’t even get a leg in. The towels were on a rack over 2m high- impossible to reach for a short person. Very noisy- could hear noise coming from next door and the hallway. Don’t waste your money. Go elsewhere
