  Would NOT recommend staying at Piazza di Spagna Suite de Charme

  The location of this hotel is great located near the Spanish steps and walking distance to pretty much all the main attractions in Rome. The room is decent and just fine for a place to sleep. It was decently clean and we got our towels exchanged once during our three night stay. My reason for the 2 star review is due to our experience while checking in. If you look on Google and click website it takes you to an error page. The lady at the front made us feel bad for booking through a 3rd party when there is no other choice online. When checking availability the only options that come up are Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline, etc. No where to book direct.We arrived in Rome and by the time we got to the hotel it was around 8:10pm maybe 8:15pm. When we arrive we were greeted not very nicely and told that we would have to pay a 25 euro late check-in fee that began at 8:00pm. We were told that since we booked through a 3rd party they had not been able to get in contact with us to let us know their front desk closes at 6:00pm and their late check-in fee starts at 8:00pm. I tried to get in contact with the hotel prior, but they do an awful job at showing any contact information. There is no email online and the phone number is a direct line and not connected to WhatsApp. Coming from out of the country this made it extremely difficult to contact them. The night we got there we did not have cash to pay the late fee and taxes so we promised to pay before we left. Instead of reminding us nicely as we left the hotel to explore Rome, the lady at the front desk slid a note under our door reminding us. Please have more decency with your guests and be kind. Knowing that it is impossible to book direct online or get in contact with the hotel, they should have better hospitality with their guests. I will not be returning or referring this hotel to any clients, family or friends. Suite de Charme, Altro at Piazza di Spagna Suite de Charme, responded to this review Dear guests, I am sorry that you felt bad, despite the fact that I have repeated in various ways that you are not to blame and that usually when we have bookings from agencies it is a bit difficult to get in touch with the guest directly. At the time of booking, you were sent the usual confirmation e-mail which unfortunately, you did not receive, as we did not have your direct contact details but those of the agency who did not help us much, honestly, and I also explained this to you at check-in. A week before your check-in, we tried several times to contact the agency you booked with and they always said that they send you an email to let you know that you have to contact the hotel, and from what I remember, you told me that you were never contacted. Our contact details can be found everywhere, on whatever page we are on. As for the site, yes, it's true, we had a period when it didn't work, but for the simple fact that we were redoing it from scratch and so some time was needed, in fact it's working now.As for the note placed under the door, this is a non-invasive method that does not disturb the privacy of our guests, which by the way is a method often used in various accommodation facilities. In explaining to you in writing this time, I would like to emphasise that my attitude, which appeared harassing to you, was not meant to be rude, but to emphasise that thanks to your agency's lack of care in not providing us with any information on your arrival time and not giving us your e-mail or telephone number, I was unable to give you any explanation on the minimum information we owe our guests. These things were explained to you not once in your presence, I hope that at least this time you will be able to understand the situation that has arisen.

  Quiet and Neat Accommodation in an Amazing Location

  When I was booking my accommodation for Rome, I wanted something central, quiet, close to the metro, neat and reasonably priced. This hotel ticked all of the boxes.Mum and I stayed during the height of summer, with high humidity and daily temperatures up to and exceeding 40 degrees celcius. The air conditioning worked well and the hotel's central location meant that we could pop back in when we needed a break from exploring.Unfortunately, during our visit the metro was out of action (it was located only a street away) but there was a taxi stand just down the street and the hotel was within walking distance to many of the main sites, including the Spanish Steps and the Villa Borghese Gardens.Gianni on the front desk was always kind and happy to assist us in any way that he could.I would not hesitate to recommend Piazza di Spagna Suite de Charme to others and will definitely be staying there again the next time that I am in Rome.

  This is a gem. Lovely rooms, fab location and the most helpful reception ever. Arrived early at 10.30 room was ready so let us check in. It really has been a great experience. Would return and recommend.

  Wonderful location, safe area, clean and comfortable room. Less than 5 minutes from Spanish Steps. Close to all amun attarctions. Roxana is great. Super recommendation on restaurant OtelloClose to Metro station and taxi area. Will come back

  We were booked here originally in 2020 and obviously had to delay our trip. The hotel was very accommodating and easy to work with in rebooking our honeymoon. The location is perfect and just a staircase away from the Spanish Steps! Walking distance to so many great restaurants on Via della Croce and right near a taxi stop! We had breakfast at a great spot just around the corner as well! The bathroom/shower were beautiful and appeared recently remodeled.
