Stay away from the spa suite

    rating27 Mar 2026

The spa suite isn’t worth it, spa is cold and floods into bedroom! despite the exterior appearance seeming to be perfection once you turn on the spa jets and leave them on to attempt a cold plunge the room floods and a lot. I learned after slipping on the wet surface and bruising myself. I reported to the front desk who brushed off the video. I then shared the video via email and was told the video wasn’t of their room. The staff was hit or miss and obviously not concerned with the hazard of the spa. I also didn’t have hot water until my last night because the water heater was off. No value in a room that has so many structural issues. The best part was the sauna, that actually worked. If you choose to stay here because of the location get a regular room. Less hassle and issues. Massimo F, at Profumo Maison Colosseo, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience in the spa suite and we sincerely apologise for the safety concern you encountered. Your wellbeing is our absolute priority. We want to reassure you that our front desk staff acknowledged your report and ensured it was passed on to the relevant maintenance team as promptly as possible. Regarding the video shared via email, we would like to clarify that the footage in the first email was filmed at an airport and was therefore unrelated to our property. We acknowledge that the hot water issue was reported and we are sorry it took until the second half of your stay to be fully resolved. This is not the standard we hold ourselves to and we regret the inconvenience caused. We are glad the sauna provided a positive experience and your feedback is essential for us to keep improving. We hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back and show you the standard we truly aim for.Kind RegardsProfumo Collection

    Very pleasant stay

    rating21 Feb 2026

Booked into a “double classic” room but on arrival were upgraded to their “spa suite”. The suite is on the basement level, the only room on that floor which made it a very private space and consisted of a king size bed, bathroom, sauna and plunge pool. The pool was cold and the whirlpool didn’t work, but no complaints as the upgrade was complementary, sauna was lovely addition after long walks around the city. Staff were friendly and very responsive if we had any requests or questions. Very comfortable bed and room made up daily. Came and went as we pleased and happy to keep our luggage safe on our last day as we had an afternoon flight. Breakfast in adjoining restaurant was good with a small but sufficient spread of food, eggs cooked fresh when we arrived. Pictures are accurate online and the location is amazing!! Only a 20 min walk from Roma Termini. Would definitely stay again! Massimo Fabi, Owner at Profumo Maison Colosseo, responded to this review Dear Guest, thank you for your review. We are very happy to know that you truly enjoyed your stay and that the upgrade to our Spa Suite made your experience even more special; having that private space with the sauna after exploring Rome is the best way to finish your day. We are also grateful for your kind words about our staff, providing excellent service is very important to us. We are also glad you enjoyed the breakfast served in the adjoining restaurant and found it a good start to your day. We look forward to welcoming you back to Rome in the future. Kind regards, Profumo Collection

    Would recommend

    rating23 Jan 2025

I saw a lot of mixed reviews for this hotel so was nervous when we got here. However on arrival we were upgraded for free and were shown to our room. The rooms are small but not an issue as it was only a place to sleep and refresh. Room was clean and could not fault it. Could hear road noise in room 23 but it wasn't a problem and I'm a light sleeper. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that one. All in all I enjoyed my stay here and they even accommodated a late checkout for us and stored our luggage whilst we went out. I'd stay again and would recommend.

Room 28- BARS on windows. Yes- real “fixed into the concrete walls”! Never again.

    rating11 Oct 2024

Well, the photography for this hotel is exceptionally creative. It is not the same in person. This is a busy working street without any glamor. We were assigned room # 28, second floor, no elevator. (2/3 of the way up the stairs reception guy called up to us and asked if we needed help - a little late with the offer). No room safe - a big negative for us. Magnetic entry door lock was tricky to operate and door scraped the floor as it was off balance at hinges. Perhaps it is poor plumbing- but the odor from the toilet, bidet and sink permeated the room. As mentioned bars on the windows. Bars - as in jail birds! We checked in with 3 nights booked and paid for. We really did not fully under what we were waking up to! As we had very early Rome tours booked and paid for, we did not have much time to go hotel room shopping in very expensive Rome at the last minute - so we struggled thru two nights and left early so forfeiting payment on the third. While super close to sights, our Rome time will always be negatively shaded by this experience. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. ( when we left one night early. Reception did not even bother to ask why we were leaving early - I think they were afraid of a truthful response). Disco music in the distance until the wee hours. It ended just in time for street sweeper machine followed by the vegetable vendor who starts at dawn.

Rooms are different to the ones advertised on the website

    rating23 Sept 2024

The location of the hotel is fantastic. You walk out the front door and your literally outside the colosseum. The surrounding area has got lovely little restaurants, cafes and an independent wine bar / shop which does unreal sandwiches,…The hotel itself looks nice but our room wasn’t great to be honest. When we booked it showed a room filled with light and windows, our room was no. 19 on the bottom floor. No windows, very dark, very noisy due to the thin room door (I was woken up on Sunday morning at 6:20am by the pinging of the receptions phone where someone was texting, also the blinds don’t really darken the room properly). The ceiling outside our room was completely open, wires and pipes exposed, water dripping from the ceiling and running into our room. A builder told us they would continue works on Monday (we stayed Friday to Sunday) which means we’ve had a „building side“ outside our room for the entire time. €300 per night for that is a bit much. Why not give us a different room??? The room itself was clean, the bathroom new, but the whole experience was disappointing to be honest. I’ve booked it as a surprise for our 11th wedding anniversary and had something else in mind. Especially since all the rooms that are on the website look different to the one we’ve had.
