The hotel is poorly maintained. Toilet doesn’t flush properly.

    rating24 May 2026

The room itself was clean, the bathroom was large and clean as well. But the door and the corridor walls were dirty and created a poor impression overall. The water pressure in the bathroom is low, and the toilet doesn’t flush very well.Maintenance is poor overall. If you pull the knob of the closet door it will come off in your hands.Noise is a problem as well. Because the hotel is next to a busy street you hear the sirens of emergency vehicles every 20 minutes.Definitely not worth the price given the poor maintenance.

Traditional hotel in an ideal location

    rating24 Apr 2026

As part of a package break to go to the Italy v England rugby match we stayed here for 3 nights. It's a traditional hotel with over 200 rooms which on arrival looked rather grand but we later realised that it does need some refurbishment. It's in the centre of Rome so it is within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions, a metro stop is also close by. Our bedroom was large with a big comfy bed but it didn't have much furniture so it looked a bit empty, however there was a fridge and a small TV. For some reason one window was shuttered so you couldn't look out from it, the other window had views of rooftops but not much else. The bathroom was also large and looked recently refurbished. Despite the size of the room the shower was small, there was plenty space for something much larger. Water pressure left a bit to be desired but wasn't terrible, there was plenty of hot water.Housekeeping was good throughout our stay and the rooms were spotless. Both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean on arrival and stayed that way throughout. At night there was a lot of street noise (including sirens) and there was music from from a club down the street until late in the evening. The bar downstairs the bar is tiny with hardly any seating but there is big comfortable lounge where you can take drinks or use waiter service to order bar meals if you wish. The restaurant is split between a conservatory, with views of the garden, and the main dining room. We only had breakfast there, for dinner we used the local restaurants. For the size of the hotel the buffet breakfast was poor - orange juice from concentrate, inedible hot items (bacon you couldn't chew, watery scrambled egg etc.), a limited choice of breads, a few dutch cheeses, sliced meat that wasn't replenished. However the machine coffee was OK and there was a choice of nice cakes. Not a great deal to get excited about apart from the location which was ideal, just average so only 3* rating.

    Charming Hotel but lacks appeal

    rating12 Apr 2026

The Quirinale Hotel is a quaint, older hotel, that is centrally located and close to many tourist attractions. Although you can see as soon as you enter that it is dated, it is kept very clean and has a subtle charm to it. The room we had was small but that was not a concern for us as we did not plan on spending much time in there other than to sleep. The furnishings were older but added a little charm to the room. The mattress was hard and not very comfortable and caused us both to wake up several times a night. The pillows matched the mattress in that they were not very comfortable either. The bathroom was a good size and kept clean. The shower on the other hand was a hazard. There was no door and there is only a partial enclosure so water gets out to the tiled floor no matter how hard you try to contain it inside the shower. The drain cover kept popping off and twice i caught a toe in it. When we were there it was at the start of April so the temps were not too hot but if you are there in hot summer heat don't expect any AC because there wasn't any. Not in our room anyways. Just a thermostat that allows you the option of turning down the heatThe view from our room was of no concern to us but it was of roof lines and other peoples balconies above a courtyard and alleyway. Noise level was "zero" so that was nice. The free breakfast in the morning was your typical hotel free breakfast. Lots of variety but average in qualityThe only dinner we had in our hotel was on our last night and it wasn't what we expected to see. For the prices they charge we were expecting top level dishes, but were very disappointed. Their flavour and presentation were not very good. Mine was actually unappealing to even look at. We did enjoy some nights in the ballroom with the performer they had. The piano player was entertaining and seemed to enjoy some interaction. Most of the staff, with the exception of the bellhop at the door, gave you the impression you were bothering them. Some were accommodating but some were visibly rude. The bellhops were really the only hotel employees that actually made you feel welcomed and were very pleasant to interact with. Overall, not a very positive impression was left with us and if we are to return to Rome at a later date we would be looking at alternative accommodations.

    A lovely getaway

    rating25 Mar 2026

The hotel is fantastic, the location is great so close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. The stay at the hotel was great the room was beautiful and spacious very clean. The staff so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Rome. This trip is everything and more but be prepared to walk for miles there is so much to see and experience I have loved it.

This hotel had it's charm and character but also has areas for improvement/enhancment

    rating11 Mar 2026

This hotel had it's charm and character, but our allocated room had little or no day light, the windows opened onto a small closed courtyard that did get the sun, so was consequently very dark, the bathroom window also opened onto the courtyard. The room did have temperature control, but when we asked how the Aircon worked, we were told that it didn’t have Aircon, although the hotel web site says it does. The bathroom was an odd shape, there was plenty of room, but the shower was very small, barely big enough for a 14 ½ stone person to move around in. There was a non slip bath, but it was too small, the shower floor was extremely slippy, and we had to be very careful stepping out of the shower, the non-slip mat needed to be twice as long. The hand towels were more like tea-towels... or recycled sheets, but i've had this before in continental Europe, so may a cultural thingWhilst the breakfast was plentiful, there were a couple of surprises… if we wanted any other type of egg than the scrambled or ham quiche on offer, i.e. poached, fried etc we had to pay extra, and in a city/country where fruit is plentiful, orange trees line the street, there were tinned pears, peaches etc on offer. One day, the glasses were not washed/replaced.Our room was opposite a service store/office and consequently sleeping past the 7am when the domestic staff were in and out of this store was a challenge.
