    A lovely visit!

    rating27 May 2026

We have just had a fantastic stay at the Rome garden Hotel. We were originally booked to be in the annexe and after reading reviews we were a bit concerned. However we were pleasantly surprised to be placed in the main hotel when we arrived which was a relief. We were in room 105 which was a big spacious room with a lovely modern bathroom. The room had a safe and a large wardrobe and we had plenty of room for the 3 of us. The room was really clean and was made up for us every day and fresh towels provided every day too. We found all the staff we met to be very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was absolutely fine-lots of choice. Pastries, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, bread, cheese, ham plus coffee, tea and juices. We found plenty to choose from and were always able to find a table when we went down for breakfast. We found the location to be good-about a 30 minute walk from Trevi etc but we didn’t mind the walk at all. Overall a really great hotel that we would definitely recommend to others.

    Look good online but.........

Stayed here for 3 nights and on arrival were told our room wasn’t ready, even though it was after check-in time.We were eventually given our room, which was located within a residential block of flats where the hotel has purchased a large unit and converted it into six rooms. You can hear people showering, urinating, and talking in the neighbouring rooms. Entering the building felt unsafe and made us feel like second-class guests. The constant noise from doors closing at all hours, including during the night, repeatedly woke us up. The beds were extremely uncomfortable — like sleeping on a concrete slab. We left feeling exhausted rather than relaxed due to the lack of sleep.Breakfast is served in the main hotel, approximately a four-minute walk away, which is far from ideal in the rain. The breakfast selection was poor compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Once warm items ran out, they were not replenished. The juice tasted watered down and was personally quite unpleasant.Regarding the safe in the room, I would recommend testing it before storing valuables inside. Ours displayed an error message, and staff spent around 20 minutes unsuccessfully trying to open it with the master key. I then managed to open it myself using the same key within 10 seconds.Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It looks good on paper, but the reality does not match expectations.

    Nice hotel, but not perfect

    rating13 May 2026

This hotel is actually lovely, but it needs some tweaks. The restaurant is not large enough for the number of guests, and although it says breakfast starts at 7, some of the food and staff did not appear until 7.15. If you want an early breakfast because you're going on a trip this is very difficult. The bedrooms need a full length mirror and a kettle. I did ask for a kettle, but I'm not sure they're readily available. The single mirror above the bathroom sink is not sufficient. All the staff are very helpful, but appear to be on commission for the local, most expensive restaurant. Our advice..... avoid. We went once, ridiculously expensive and the food was mediocre. Our biggest concern though was that they closed the garden when it rained by barring the fire escape door with a table. This is just dangerous. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the local metro station, which is much easier to navigate than the tube. Nice hotel, but not perfect.

A hidden delightful gem well situated to explore the city.

    rating19 Apr 2026

We’ve just an absolutely delightful four days at this hotel. Central location and well served by public transport. Number 62 bus got you to so many places for one euro 50. Lots of fabulous places to eat at night within walking distance. The staff were so welcoming the hotel was spotless, breakfast had loads of choice too. Loved sitting out in the garden in the morning; sitting with a coffee and croissant was a wonderful start. Rooms cleaned everyday which was a lovely surprise. Would highly recommend this hotel it’s a hidden gem!

    Charming oasis in Rome

    rating19 Apr 2026

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a peaceful part of town away from the noise and bustle of central Rome. Frequent buses run from the bus stop at the end of the road, and they take you right into the cultural heart of the city in about 20 minutes. We were in rooms 501 and 502 , which are garden rooms and its feels like a different word when you turn the corner - almost like an old fashioned Mediterranean fishing village! Its beautiful Breakfast is of a good standard although it gets busy between 8-9am so if you prefer a peaceful breakfast go outwith those times. The staff were exceptional, and couldn't have been more helpful. Baudelaire looked after us at breakfast and he was extremely helpful and friendly. I stupidly left my phone in the back seat of the taxi back to the airport and the Franco and Diego were absolute lifesavers, helping me locate and ship it back home., I can't thank them enough. If you are looking for a charming and friendly oasis of calm away from the bustling city I can thoroughly recommend the Rome Garden Hotel
