    What An Experience!

    rating28 May 2026

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in late April at the Rome Life Hotel. The hotel is not large, at 45 rooms, but fits the saying "small is beautiful".Their is a small reception area with excellent, god sized public lounges and a lovely outside terrace on the 5th floor.Location :- turn right outside the hotel and it is less than 1/2 mile to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.Turn left and it is approx the same distance to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and easy to include the Parthenon.Staff:- all pleasant, friendly and helpful.Room:-Compact,clean,small fridge,TV,safe and a lovely bathroom(shower).Meals:- there is a small menu available to eat in the hotel and a lovely restaurant area.We only had breakfast in the hotel and it was wonderful - all you would expect (and more)for a continental breakfast plus scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage and bacon.Very attentive staff. We ate at a little restaurant opposite the hotel just to the left.(See our review of Grottino di Abruzzo)Bar:- the hotel has a nice and comfortable bar area with helpful and considerate bar staff.Would we stay there again? Most certainly - highly recommended.TIP If going to the Vatican City do not take a taxi or bus - the traffic is a nightmare! We took a taxi and it took us almost one hour and we were starting to panic that we would miss our tour time.We would suggest walking(give yourself at least 45 mins) or use the Metro. If walking be careful not to be held up by all the little squares and streets that demand investigation - save them for your return journey!!We would also suggest a visit to St.Peter's Basilica

Cute, pretty, small hotel. Excellent staff. Breakfast is wonderful! Service is excellent. Giacomo made us coffee every morning and was very kind. The bartender makes wonderful Negroni or Aperol Spritz. Book a cab through the front desk and it is always cheaper. Great location. A nice stay at Rome Life Hotel

    rating16 May 2026

Location: Pretty good, with shops, mini markets and resaurants within walking distance. Two very good restaurants right across the street.Atmosphere: Very modern and monochromatic. A bit too cold for my taste - shiny and sterile. Room: We had a large and clean room with a large, comfortable bed. We were on the top floor (5th) with a rooftop patio that was very nice, though without a view (surrounded on all sides by buildings). The room had a small refridgerator where free mini bar items were kept (more on that later). There was an electric, easy to use coffee maker, lots of lighting, small vanity area with a sink, small toilet area with a bidet and s separate walk in shower with good water pressure.Amenities: The mini bar had some water, one bag of chips, some soft drinks, and piece of chocolate and two small creamer containers. These were free but would be replaced for a fee. There were instant coffee packets, tea bags and sugars, all replaced daily. We had to buy milk at the market around the corner so we could have enough for our daily coffee. There should have been creamer along with the tea/coffee packets because the two small creamer packets in the mini bar were just barely enough for one coffee. Not a big deal, just a small inconvenience. The breakfast that was included each morning was fantastic. Eggs, bagon, toast, yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc. Very nice! The reception desk staff were helpful and easily called us taxi service that arrived in 2 minutes. No ice machine on the floors, so I went to the bar on the first floor for ice as needed. They also have a happy hour each day, with drinks for 10 euro.
