    Nightmare

My advice to anyone coming to Rome is never ever use this hotel. They mishandled our reservation leaving us without a hotel room at 10pm on a Sunday night. The guy on reception couldn't care less and offered absolutely no assistance. His superior was just as bad when we eventually spoke to him on the phone .An absolute disgrace.

    Great budget hotel

    rating15 Nov 2017

ROOMS & BREAKFAST: We arrived late in the evening Nov 2nd. We anticipated the hotel being difficult to find so followed other TripAdvisor members directions and found the hotel pretty easily. The man at reception in Hotel Enrica was very helpful; told us breakfast times, gave us a map & took us to our room in the Serendipity.Yes the rooms are basic & not the most modern. But for the price you can't expect a lot more. Our bed was made everyday, changed a few times and we had 2 clean towels each everyday. Breakfast is a coffee, fruit juice & pastry in Hotel Enrica (a 1 minute walk away) but it filled us up until lunch time and would have cost us roughly 8 Euros each each day to buy in a local cafe. Yes the chairs you sit on for breakfast are plastic; but you're only in there 10/15mins so it really doesn't matter. We'd sit there with a map from reception, plan our day whilst eating & drinking and then head out for the day returning in the evening. LOCATION: The hotel is about a 25 minute walk to the Colosseum with numerous supermarkets/ shops on the way. Roma Termini station is about 10mins away as well as a metro station at the end of the Viale Castro road (goes direct to Colosseum for 1.50 EUR each way).SO... a great budget hotel in a great location if you're looking for somewhere cheap as a base during a city break. With only a few hours spent at the hotel each day/night; all the facilities you need including free wifi and a fridge in the rooms. The hotel is very secure with multiple gates, doors, locks and CCTV & a safe was provided in our room. Our only complaint would be that toilet flushes/showers in other rooms could be heard, but that wasn't really a problem and we were only woken once when someone decided to shower at 4am.

Terrible 'hotel' do not stay here

    rating26 Jul 2017

I recently stayed at the serendipity hotel in Rome. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in for a number of reasons. To be clear, it is very reasonably priced and of course I was not expecting luxury, however I do expect the most basic amenities and also for them to provide what they advertise. Firstly, the lift was broken, which isn't ideal with 30 kgs of luggage and being placed on the 4th floor. The room was absoulutelty disgusting, damp, marked and stained walls, dirty and generally unpleasant. The AC was what I can only describe as fake as in that it barely worked and was clearly set so that the temperature was unable to be adjusted. There was a general bad odour in the room. The toilet roll was completely wet. The wifi also didn't work. I went to outline these issues to reception, there was another couple there when I went to the desk. The person at reception asked what I wanted and I quietly said I had an issue worth the room but would wait til he had checked in the other guests, he responded that I should tell him there and then. Why would someone optionally chose to have a guest complain in front of others when I was more than happy to do so discreetly? I outlined the issues and he responded that they were unable to do anything until the next day, I informed them that my stay was only one night and they said there was nothing they could do as the rooms were full. The receptionist came to the room reluctantly, and claimed the ac was working. He then said he was angry because I made it seem like there was a list of problems when in reality there was none. Clearly they don't view all of the above as problems. I said that I was happy to deal with the other issues as long as I could use the wifi. I showed him the issue with the wifi, he said it was not his problem as other guests could use it so it was probably the model of my phone ( iPhone 6 )?? The receptionist became aggressive and ended up raising his voice and walking away while I was talking. I asked him for his name and he laughed and gave me a false name ( Daniel ). Absolutely terrible experience and even worse customer service. I was scared to be in the hotel due to the volatility of the staff and the state of the room, I would have moved had it not been so late.As a separate FYI the breakfast is a coffee and croissant which can be bought in any coffee bar in Rome for 2 euros, its a nice touch but don't let it sway you to stay there. Do yourself a favour and pay the little extra to stay somewhere a little nicer.

    OK!!

    rating11 May 2017

We stayed here for 2 nights and I was waiting for the stay to get over.. the reception is in interior of a big building and the rooms are even more inside.. we had 4 doors to be opened to reach our room.. and the way through these doors is not pleasant.. the room was OK.. bed not very comfortable, bathroom was ok ok, the refrigerator was noisy... the overall setup was very dull and gloomy... for the price we paid i expected a clean, decent normal hotel room...Plus point was the reception was open almost 24 hours, so check-in check-out was not a problem..

    Fantastic stay!!!

    rating05 May 2017

This hotel, although a little tricky to find (spread over two locations) was right near the train station and walking distance to all the attractions. Breakfast was served at a small café just down the street and consisted of a coffee and pastry. Front desk staff was super helpful, free wifi in rooms and although the rooms were a little dated, the price was right.
