Location

Located at the heart of the Italian capital close to the Termini train station, this Roman hotel lies just 2 minutes walk from the patriarchal basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Lying just 15 minutes walk from the hotel are the Colosseum and the Forum Romanum and an abundance of shopping and entertainment venues are to be found in the hotel's immediate vicinity. The stop for public transport is 200 m away and Leonardo de Vinci airport lies some 27 km off.

The hotel was built in 1900. 35 rooms, including 6 single rooms and 19 double rooms, are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay.     The hotel is old and not so great. the staff was friendly but facilities and sleep quality was very poor. unless its an emergency for 01 night its better to avoid the hotel. The bed and the bathroom are old and looks unclean. Wifi isn't available in the rooms

    I was very apprehensive after I had booked this hotel as many of the reviews were extremely negative. However the hotel was clean, the staff were pleasant and the location was good. Termini was a 10 min walk giving access to mainline trains and the metro. The Basilica of Mary Major was nearby and the major shopping street of Via Nationali was within walking distance. However there were few facilities besides a bed, no bar or breakfast room but again plenty of places near by. Would I stay here again? If on my own yes not sure if travelling with my family.

    Avoid At All Costs (BLACK MOLD!)

    The room is an overglorified walk-in-closet. The bathroom and shower is RIDDLED with black mold.The curtains are covered in stains, the walls are all dinged and covered in scuff marks and drywall patches.The bed feels like it’s going to snap in half under the weight of us (I’m only 100lbs, my husband is only 165lbs, so neither of us are large humans by any means).The receptionist said there was nothing he could do about the state of the room, and only offered to waive the tourist tax (so, 12€).I suggested he informs the cleaner to pay extra special attention to the bathroom when they come in to clean for the next guests.

    Looking at the pictures we thought the hotel would be lovely but we ended up with the smallest room painted in a cold blue. There was not enough room to even put a suitcase on the floor! Luckily there was a wardrobe where we managed to fit all our belongings. The bed was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete with a thin pad over the top. The shower was so tiny it was hard to manoeuvre in it. There was building work going on in the hotel which was rather noisy and we had a burning smell on the last few days in the room. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The TV (we didn't use it) was sitting on the tiny dressing table taking up all surface space even though there was a wall bracket right above it. The rooms are not remotely sound proof. The good points are the staff were friendly. The location good. The room was clean.

    We only stayed one night so it wasn’t the end of the world, but this was not a pleasant stay and we were glad to check out very early the next day. Small room, outdated, gross bathroom, and the room looked a lot different compared to what we were shown when booking. All in all, if you have to stay here, just dump your bags and see the city.
