  Unfriendly, unwelcoming staff but great location

  The front desk reception was not friendly. We waited an hour at check-in and our room was not ready. They would not offer us complimentary drinks upon arrival when we discovered we still had to wait. Only after waiting almost an hour and our room was still not ready did they offer us complimentary drinks bc they wanted us to wait even longer. It could have been the least they could have done from the beginning. But they were cheap. They stated that their housekeeping was delayed and it was not “their fault.” Like what? Well it certainly wasn’t our fault. What kind of response was that? Finally, they offered us another, upgraded room. But they were resistant to do so, but we couldn’t wait longer than an hour! We just arrived back in Rome and it was our last night. We were exhausted after a 6 hour train ride, felt gross, and did not want to spend our last day in their lobby. The upgraded, executive room was spacious and clean. Basic and good enough. Not sure what our original room would have been like. But the executive king bed room only offered one bath robe and one tiny complimentary water instead of 2. There was a gross mushy dirty shower mat to prevent slipping inside the tub. The location was great though. Pretty easy 15-25 min walk to some central Rome locations. It’s also less than a 5 min walk to Rome termini, which made getting to the airport super easy.

  Perfect spot for last night in Italy

  We stayed here for one night at the end of our Italy trip to be close to the train station for the trip to the airport the next am. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable (althoug sheets a little scratchy for me but I'm fussy). Perfect location for the train station, literally 5 mins walk max and on paved sidewalks not cobblestones. We walked from the hotel to dinner in Monti and to see he Colesseum at night and felt totally safe. Recommend!   Amazing hotel, good location and great staff

  We have just returned from a 3 night / 4 day stay in Rome and found this hotel to be fantastic. It’s a beautiful hotel and we decided to pay a little more to get a balcony and we were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely, staff are super friendly and everything is walkable from the hotel. We walked to Collin, pantheon, Spanish steps, piazza Navona and the tram can take you round as well (although we didn’t need it) The only downside was later at night the area around the hotel was very mixed, lovely restaurants 10mins walk away but lots of unsavoury characters which was scary when walking to hotel and the police are not very visible oin the area but security at hotel are amazing.   Check in experience is good, polite, welcoming and informative. We booked a standard double which was beautiful, classy art deco theme throughout. Room facilities perfect, mini wet bar, safe, kettle, hairdryer and comfortable bed. Controllable air conditioning and a window that opens! Breakfast is a huge buffet with hot and cold options, and you can order omelettes etc to be made fresh. Gluten free bread, muffins, crackers & biscuits are available on request. All staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and welcoming and really do brighten your day. I liked the live train departure and arrival board just adjacent to the lobby too. The location I found to be perfect for my holiday, close to lots of great restaurants and bars, the Opera, Termini, Piazza Della Repubblica/Naiads Fountain, Santa Maria Maggiore (the last popes final resting place) and Santa Maria of the Angels & Martyrs (built by Michealangelo). We walked to ALL the major tourist attractions from here (Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican City/St Peter’s and lots more), but if walking isn’t your thing, there are many, many transport options with buses/trams/metro/golf carts. Honestly I would stay here again, it really is the best of both worlds, away from the packed out streets, but everything in easy access. 10/10 for me!!
