    Misleading information on website

    rating31 Aug 2023

First of all, this is not a hotel, it is a flat that has been separated into independent rooms with bathroom. The family room is two double beds in a very small room, there is no dining area, kitchen or stove as confirmed on booking which we were counting on; when owner was asked she insisted it was our mistake, not theirs, even though it was in the confirmation email, and we could “upgrade” for 200€ more per night. The breakfast included consists of coffee and a pastry which is not on site (about a four block walk away) in the end we didn’t bother going everyday, as we still needed to buy breakfast somewhere else anyway. The location is a bit dodgy, and a good 20 min walk from closest tourist landmarks, but that was our mistake for not knowing the area well. All in all, I think we ended up spending more on food and transport than if we had stayed in a more central hotel. Worth checking details of booking carefully.

    Misinformation online

    rating25 Aug 2020

I stayed here for two nights as a family four. I do not recommend this B&B for families. As a lone traveller it will do. But you will not be aware of where this place is as there is no signage or existence of it unless the owner waits at the door for you. Basically it’s an apartment in a private quarter which was transformed into rooms with bathrooms. You will have 3 keys given to you to get into the building which is very run down. The rooms are like a sauna, the air cons have been switched off and there is no breakfast. Even though online you are able to book a room with all that. Talk lines are there isn’t any cause of COVID. This was the worst two nights I had, we got no sleep as we sweated all night. Woke up to no breakfast and the area has nowhere you can get anything for breakfast either! There were issue with the electrics in the room as they haven’t been updated, be wary of the city tax you are charged as under 12’s are not charged but mine were. Just a total scam to be honest. I wouldn’t expect this sort of thing from booking.com and would hope this is investigated.

    Worth for the money

    rating18 Oct 2019

The hotel is 12 min walk to the Termini station. It was a small but comfortable room with uncomfortable pillows. The host was great. Definitely worth for what you pay.it took only 15 mins to walk to colleseum

    Amazing!

    rating13 May 2019

Have just returned from an amazing stay here. Rooms very comfortable, and cleaned every day. You're just a 2 minute walk from the metro which was brilliant. Some people say the neighbourhood is 'dodgy' but didn't feel this at all myself, always felt safe and comfortable! Loved staying somewhere residential, it really began to feel like home during our 4 night stay. Most importantly, the owners Ion and Dorina provided the BEST hospitality we have ever received, and we've visited over 30 different countries between us. Truly amazing hosts - they even realised it was my birthday while I was staying and surprised me with a beautiful bouquet, which was an incredibly thoughtful. Grazie again! dorina c, Proprietario at Vanella Rome Domus, responded to this review Dear NatalyThank you so much for your staying with us and thank you for your words. This a pleasure for us. Thanks again and where you like we are here for youRegards Dorina and Ion

    Roman Bargain

    rating07 Sept 2018

We have just returned from a 4 night stay in the Vanella Rome Domus. The place is easy to find and just a ten minute walk from the train station so very convenient. The area does not look great but nothing happened to us and the apartment is very safe and secure. Our host was a little late meeting us which made me slightly anxious but he was most apologetic on arrival and then showed us around. A bottle of prosecco was waiting for us and fresh flowers in our room. Very comfortable bed and the housekeeping happened every day. I can't fault the place for comforts and it was lovely to be in such a quiet room during the evenings. Breakfast was at the cafe around the corner and even when we arrived at 6 a.m for breakfast before an early start to The Vatican, we were greeted warmly and the coffee and cake set us up for morning.I can certainly recommend Vanella Rome Domus for your stay in Rome
