  Confirmed Booking Cancelled at Short Notice

  I made a reservation at Hotel Vespasiano several months in advance for a March 2026 stay and received confirmation at the time of booking.Less than one month before arrival, the hotel cancelled my reservation, citing a failed credit card pre-authorization. While the card on file had indeed been replaced, I did not receive any prior notice or opportunity to update the payment details before the cancellation was processed.What is particularly disappointing is that immediately after the cancellation, the same room category for the same dates appeared available on the hotel’s website at a significantly higher rate than my original booking.Cancelling a confirmed reservation so close to the check-in date, without first allowing the guest to resolve a payment issue, creates considerable stress and financial impact, especially in a high-demand city like Rome.Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the quality of the stay itself, as I was not given the opportunity. However, based on this experience, I would advise future guests to monitor their reservations closely and confirm payment details well in advance.

  We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Rome. The rooms were very clean, the service was great, and the overall experience was excellent. The location is perfect, very close to the Vatican, with many restaurants and shops nearby. Maximiliano deserves a special mention,he was extremely polite, kind, and always ready to help. Highly recommended!👏👏👏

  Nice small hotel ( 12 rooms), very well located at walking distance from Ottaviani tube station and Vatican. Very cheap compared to others. Not luxury or 4 stars for me as it is said.Ask not to be allocated with a room downstairs as rooms have no windows ( which is written nowhere...) & very noisy you are on the side of the street ! Breakfast is ok but not as on pictures & certainly not with home made products ..you do not help yourself , they come with plates already prepared with croissants , bread , some fruits , cheese , ham . Only 5 tables so you have to book the night before what time you want to go.I was allocated another room the 2nd night as the one downstairs was far too noisy and looked like a bunker with no windows.The 2nd room 308 was much better , a lot of light, although some work should be done in the bathrooms ( heating out of order , bad smell from the shower tube and soap filler broken) .Please remove pictures about the hotel breakfast which have nothing to do with hotel and advise about room downstairs.A big thank you to Fulvia at reception who has been very helpful and nice to make my stay enjoyable. Will visit again for my next Rome holiday.

  We came for 3 nights and had a fabulous stay, staff were all so helpful, give you a run down of the area / top tips and also give you a map which was really useful, the beds were incredibly comfy, rooms spotless and breakfast was gorgeous. Highly recommend!!

  We stayed at "THIS 4-STAR HOTEL", 2-night in one of the rooms, where I was totally surprised by the low quality of the room, dirty walls with scratches, dust everywhere, all kinds of broken objects in the room , especially in the bathroom.I went down to the reception and wanted to discuss this problem where I came across an arrogant and uncooperative gentleman, that I would like to change the room or how we can remedy this discomfort, so that we can have a decent room in which to spend our stay. I was surprised at how I was treated, he yelled at me and suggested that I keep that room.The breakfast is poor, without a menu, in a very small place, in the basement, with a very rudimentary way of serving customers.I chose this hotel based on those pictures on the websites. Those pictures are not real, compared to what is offered and especially for a 4 star hotel.This is not an honest and fair way to sell and promote yourself! And to treat customers!
