A quiet and relaxing place. The outdoor pools are very beautiful and surrounded by greenery. The indoor pools are also truly relaxing, as are the massages. The cuisine is genuine and abundant. For breakfast, there are excellent pastries made by them. Everything is very clean. Originally submitted in Italian on www.tripadvisor.it. View originals.

Horrible experience! At the front desk, the staff member arrogant and very unprofessional (blond girl). Not welcoming at all and the worst she tryed to avoid any relations with customers. Luggages storage and left unattended without any record. The hotel seams a retirement home for elderly. While waiting for the very late check in at 15. 00 o'clock while the check out is at 10.30 many people were unsatisfied

    Extremely upsetting 😡

This is a terrible hotel. A false location description given by Love Holidays, they have recently changed their location description or this hotel. Full of friendly elderly local Italian guests who unfortunately have NO English. The staff have practically NO English, they would totally ignore us and deal with other guests when we were trying to ask information on things to do etc , very rude. the smell of raw sewage outside at the pool was vomit inducing. There were no tourists, It was situated in the back of nowhere, no transport, nothing to do. The food was disgusting. The menu was in italian - no English translation. The hotel+ the room were clean , that's the only positive thing I can say.We paid for 7nights and left after 2 nights. No refund, apologies or anything. Avoid at all costs !!

Major problem with an unbearably bad smell. We left after the first night.

Do not book this hotel without first checking whether the issue with the drains has been sorted! We booked for 4 nights at the beginning June (last week). On arrival things looked fine. The reception was clean and the young receptionist was welcoming. She then took us outside to the pools. This is when we first noticed the smell. Originally we believed it was due to the natural water thermal pools. We went up to our room which was clean and fine for the price we paid. We then went outside to sit by the pool but the smell was stronger by this time so we didn’t stay long. By around 5am the smell had reached our hotel room and it was really unpleasant. My partner went to go and fetch something from the car and said that the smell was even worse in the corridor outside our room and my daughter was crying as she couldn’t bear it. We decided that we had no choice other than to leave and book somewhere else for the remainder of our stay. We packed up and went down to the reception. Despite it saying the reception was 24 hours there was no one to be seen so we told a cleaner we were leaving and left the keys at the front desk.

    Nice surprise for super relax

    rating03 Aug 2019

First time ever for us in Contursi. The first impact is with a building that is simply huge and reveals the style of the years it had been built in (early 1900’s?).It’s not a nice building to look at truth be told, although the external work contributes to making its square and bulky profile more pleasant to the eye.It is immersed in the lush green of a small valley just at the feet or the village of Contursi (reachable on foot via a steep, although broad and comfortable) staircase that has been built through the impressive woods). The immediate feeling of the place is of quiet and relax, with almost no other sound other than birds, the splendid breeze that caresses the rich vegetation and obviously the river Sele that flows just next to it.The location is absolutely 5 stars for whoever is looking to switch off and relax, and very reachable. Now, to the hotel itself. The efforts of renovation of such a huge building must be costly and are visible, although the size of the building is also the problem. In times past this was obviously a famed and sought after destination, attracting very many visitors; today, it seems like only few people find their way here (good for the other guests I’d say ;) and to maintain such a sizable hotel is costly.Although the surface is refreshed and mostly modern, the age (and probably the quality of some of the renovation works) shows: patches of plaster on the wall spotted by humidity are not uncommon (although not prevailing) and the finishings of several elements (outside and inside) are still not complete (ie the covers of some plugs, the external lights, etc).Mind you, this is of almost no impact to the quality of the experience, although it is visible and there is no telling of when these works will be ever completed. The internal spa is complete, although the same signs of age are showing here as well.Internal massage services (at ridiculously low prices!) are offered as well as indoor hot pools (at an extra price).Access to the external thermal (cold water) pool (huge!) with another one for kids next to it is included in the standard room rate. There is a cozy, small bar next to the huge reception and hall, which we visited every morning for breakfast. We decided not to opt for the extra cost of the breakfast served on the terrace, since we are more than ok with cappuccino and cornetto. The outside space is the essence of relax and of the ancient spirit of the Hotel Forlenza: comfortable, well kept, massive pools with plenty of lounge chairs and sun beds all around. This is really a magnificent spot to be in and to make Contursi Terme known to the public.Cellular reception has been a problem for us, with a Wifi connection that is only really covering a part of the hall. This is definitely not sufficient and should be enhanced... although you obviously could say that it adds to the feeling of relaxation and ‘disconnection’ that this place offers as its greatest asset.Courteous and helpful, the workers of the hotel have contributed to the overall nice experience. We (my wife, daughter and I) spent 220€ for 3 nights, with an extra of 45€ for 2 massages and our breakfasts at the bar. These prices, for the quality received, are absolutely unbeatable.I am not sure as to whether (or when) I’ll have the chance to get back here, but I sure do feel like advising all those who are seeking for an oasis of relax in the middle of a place rich of history and natural beauty, who are also savvy about their money, to seriously consider the Hotel Forlenza.Keep it up guys.
