    Good and bad points

    We spent three nights in this hotel and found both good and bad points. The room was spacious and clean and had a fridge, kettle and hair dryer. The outside pool was lovely - except for the constant bang bang 'music' which the barman played constantly for his own amusement! We wanted to relax by the pool after a day's sightseeing, but this was impossible due to the repetitive banging music noise. This was mentioned to the receptionist who promised to 'sort it out' - but failed to do so.The TV had over 100 programmes in different languages - but NONE in English (not even BBC world news). Each day, the receptionist promised to get 'someone to sort it', but again, nothing was done!Breakfasts were buffet style and had lots of choice, but the evening meals were very limited with little choice. There was no water on the table, but purified tap water was provided - at 3 Euros for a small bottle!! not what you expect in a 4 star hotel!

    Just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. We had a superior room with a garden view. It was very compact with a small balcony which had on it 1 x sunbed (not enough room for 2!) and a table with 2 chairs. The room had tea & coffee making facilities and a minibar. It also had a mini safe but we couldn’t fathom out how to use that (suspect it was chargeable and a lock piece was required to be purchased). The room, as was the rest of the hotel, was kept very clean with towels changed daily, as required. The hotel has nicely kept gardens, a smallish pool and a poolside bar. The bar advertised that snacks were available lunchtime sandwiches etc but these were limited to a ham and cheese toastie which seemed to be all that they offered for the duration of our week long stay regardless of the time of day, which was a little disappointing. The breakfast was excellent with everything you could wish for but for lunch or evening meals the hotel offered only an a la crate menu which was very limited in choice. Had it been more varied we would have eaten there more often.The hotel is not near any restaurants or bars so if you choose to eat out a hire car is recommended but if you do hire a car go for a smallish one as most of the roads in towns snd mountains are very narrow! The hotel has its own car park with plenty of spaces available and many of them in the shade.The staff were very polite, helpful and welcoming. We would happily return here.

    Perfect for a relaxing few days away from the crowds

    A small hotel, very isolated. There aren’t any shops or cafes nearby. The room was clean and equipped with a fridge and kettle. The walk-in show was excellent (no shower toiletries). There was a swimming pool with plenty of tables on the terrace for a relaxing drink from pool-side bar . Breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choice. Dinner was waiter served. Members of staff were pleasant and helpful.

    On arrival I was allocated a room which I had paid a supplement for. It was very small with 2 single beds squashed together. No room for my case, I used it as a barrier because my door would not lock properly. There was a small cupboard with a hanger in it. The kettle blew the electrics, I reported it at 6am, 8.30am and on my return at 6pm as still not fixed. Breakfast and dinner was adequate but dinning room had lots of flies in it. The female staff in the restaurant were pleasant but the male staff were not customer friendly. I bought a drink at pool bar, but couldn’t taste the alcohol and it was not cheap!. All in all extremely disappointed.

    We stayed at Baia di Capitano for 10 days and overall, it was a decent experience—but with a few caveats.📍 LocationThe hotel is located a bit outside Cefalù, so having a car is definitely recommended. They offer a shuttle to the town, but it costs €10 per one-way trip, which adds up quickly.🛏️ Rooms & CleanlinessRooms are reasonably clean and maintained daily. Beds are made every day, and occasionally the cleaning is more thorough. Nothing fancy, but comfortable enough.🏖️ Beach AccessThe hotel has a reserved beach area nearby with sunbeds and parasols. It’s quieter than Cefalù’s main beach, which was a big plus. However, evening entertainment at the hotel can go on until midnight, which may cause some noise depending on your room.🍽️ DiningWe ate at the hotel restaurant once. It was okay, but nothing memorable. There are far better dining options in the area.🥪 Departure DisappointmentOn our last day, we asked for a simple goodie bag for the road—just something light since breakfast leftovers are common. The staff offered sandwiches, which we appreciated. But at checkout, we were charged €20 for two basic tomato-and-cheese sandwiches. We had already paid before receiving them due to time constraints, and honestly, airport food was cheaper and better. It felt like a disappointing end to an otherwise fine stay.💬 Final VerdictA reasonable hotel with decent amenities and a quieter beach experience. But the lack of hospitality on departure left a sour taste. If you stay here, just be mindful of extra charges and consider dining elsewhere.
