  Absolutely amazing place in the historic part of Palermo with the view over the marina. Super professional host, very informative and helpful. There’s everything you need in the house together with some tourist guide leaflets. Perfect location.

  Nice central location, but rooms (apt?) to rent- not B&B

  Let's start with good point:- good location- excellent view over the port- Manuela is very nice and tries to help, providing useful suggestions (for places to visit, restaurants in the area etc.)- the apartment featured a nice living room and kitchen with all necessary appliances.However, we were quite disappointed. - we thought we have rented an apartment, but turned out to be just a room in a shared apartment - so, shared living room and kitchen (which can also mean strange and strong smells, depending on what the other guests decide to cook);- unclear why this is included as B&B - there are a few things (tea, coffee, cereals, sweet snacks), but guests are in charge of taking care of their breakfast - and there was only a smal table with 2 chairs in the kitchen (we were 4, and there were other guests as well in the apartment);- furniture very basic in the room, and almost no storage space - e.g. some improvised (textile material and metal bars) shelves were the only thing for putting our clothes.- a lot of noise from the traffic and simple windows with no phonic insulation (almost as loud as with the windows open);

  Great view and close to everything in Palermo

  We stayed at Kasa Kala for a couple of nights and enjoyed it very much. The place has all of the amenities that you need if you wish to cook on your own or great restaurants are nearby. Bed was comfortable. We liked the decor. View of the marina is great.Within easy walking distance to two different markets with great seafood fresh daily, cheese and meats galore, more types of vegetables than I have seen before as well as lots of shops to find whatever else you need.Near to all the major museums and churches and not far from the bus or train stationsWe walked to everything we wanted to see in Palermo easily!Manuela was a great hostess. She met us at the building when promised and it was easy to stay in contact with her on WhatsApp. Her replies were always prompt.She provided us with lots of local knowledge and tourist information for our time there.Thanks, Manuela for making our stay in Palermo memorable and fun.

  Charming and cute

  My Family and I rented all three of the apartments Manuela has in June. I found the apartments to be very charming. Each unit is decorated differently. We stated here for 11 days. In my apartment the AC was in the living room, but I got air in my bedroom at night. The beds were comfortable. They place does have noise. But we didn't find it unbearable. I slept fine with the windows open at night. I slept fine, and I am a somewhat light sleeper. Manuala goes above and beyond hosting us. She was available to help us with anything we asked of her. Thank you for all your help Manuela--- I can't wait to get back to Sicily!!

  We booked what was called a «de luxe penthouse», so we had certain expectations. We got disapointed. The standard of the apartment was average, at best. Description said airconditioned. There was one ac-unit in the apartment. It was in the living room, and it was not powefull or efficient enough to cool down the whole apartment. We had to sleep with our bedroom doors open, and the temperature was still 25-30 C. Description said microwave owen and dishwasher. There where no microwave and dishwasher.Description said free wifi. Well, there was some kind of wifi, but it was none-functional. We asked the manager to fix it. She said she would look in to it, but nothing happened. So, no wifi.Description said 3 bedrooms. There where two bedrooms, and two beds on an open loft, with a very low ceiling.The refridgerator was broken. We asked them to fix it, and they brought us a «brand new» used one the next day, which worked fine, but they did not remove the old one the week we stayed there.Description said extra bathroom. There was one bathroom. The toilet seat was broken. Toilet paper-holder broken. Towel hanger next to shower broken. Cup next to bidet broken. Soap dispenser broken. Washing machine broken. Mould in the shower.The walls where stained, but the rest of the apartment was clean.The beds and pillows where a little bit hard, but this is our personal taste.The apartment is situated by a busy street, so we expected some street noise. The noise was beyond all imagination. Not only from the traffic, but also from the restaurants and nightclubs across the street. Extremly noisy neighbourhoud, night and day.Easy walking distance to good restaurants and the town center. View from the terrace was nice. One of the chairs on the terrace was cracked. Manager was attentive, answered our questions, and booked airport transfer for us, which was a fair deal.These are honest facts about the apartment we had.We are experienced travelers, and we would advise the managers of this apartment to wright an honest description of it. To call IT «de luxe», is just a fraud, and has got nothing to do with reality. KasaKala, Proprietario at Kasa Kala, responded to this review There Erik Steinwe are very disappoint with your review and we want to clarify that it is only your personal judgment and not very truthful about the reality of the facts.You didn't reclaim any problem during your stay and you wrote only now on this review and it's very difficult to fix any problem when you leave the apartment...1) DESCRIPTION OF THE APARTMENT : DELUXE is not our description but an automatic tipology on expedia system .. and an historical palace of 1600 and a penthouse sea view is considered a deluxe penthouse NOT A LUXURIOUS APARTMENT as you wrote!! So I think that uncorrects and wrong were only YOUR EXPECTATIONS....and Please show us where there is this description about microwave or dishes washer or 2 bathrooms (sorryyyy??) cause we just called the site expedia.com and hotels.com to check it and they confirmed us that the description is absolutely correct and there are no microwave or dishwasher mentioned there and the apartment has only one bathrooms (we have several apartmens in the system, I think you fallen in confusion with some otherone).. so our description is absoloutly honest, maybe this was always part of your erroneous expectations???2) About wifi everything is perfectly working.. maybe you need to restart the system and sometimes could happens that if there are 20 devices connected, the signal may be slower but usually everything is working and I gift to you several line to connect.3) About noisy is a totally your personal consideration and it's depend from where you come.we are in the city center and we are in a very lived city in every time of the day and of the night and you have appreciated that everything is very close and at walking distance. So if you prefer to stay in silent areas i suggest you in Sicily to choose always the periferic area and never the city center.4) About the chairs in the terrace we realized after your stay that it was broken so we can't know exactly when this happened.. maybe also during your stay and you don't know it.. so you could ask to other members of your family also.5) and about your last consideration I want to reply to you that I am an EXPERIENCED HOST AND HOWNER and I would like to advice to these experienced travelers (as they should to know) to wright an honest description of their stay and next time to allarm in time the howner about some problems cause after the departure we have not the possibility to fix any inconvenience that in this work it could happens.Best regardsManuela
