Location

The hotel is very close to Via Etnea, at the heart of Catania, one of the symbolic cities of Sicilian baroque. Just a short distance from the hotel are some of the most artistically and culturally interesting places in Catania: the Roman Amphitheatre; the Villa Bellini gardens, Via dei Crociferi, magnificent baroque palaces and Piazza Duomo. The Benedictine Monastery is also an essential visit, nowadays home to the Faculty of Arts, the St. Julian Church, one of the most beautiful in Catania, and Ursino Castle, the only building to survive the earthquake in 1693. The hotel is also an ideal base for excursions out of town: Caltagirone, the town famous for its ceramics; Taormina; Siracusa; Piazza Armerina and the slopes of Etna.

    This hotel is riddled with mosquitoes and we got badly attacked by them through the night, making sleep and relaxing impossible.Some of the staff are uncaring too, although they did move our room,the bugs were still biting.

    I just want to say I was really impressed by the guy working the coffee machine. You can see how hard he works and how much effort he puts into every order. Fast, focused, and still friendly throughout. Hats off to him, it definitely made the experience better.

    Pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room was very big (albeit a bit outdated), ACs worked well, large balcony, water dispenser in reception to fill bottles, very large selection of food during the breakfast. What’s more, the hotel gave me gluten free goodies during the breakfast which were sealed to reduce risk of contamination. Staff were nice and even gave my son a colouring book.

    Really lovely staff. Excellent breakfast. Good bathroom. Valet parking . Good location. We didn’t particularly like Catania itself, but if you come here then this is a really nice hotel to stay at. The rooms are standard hotel rooms but spacious bathroom with an excellent bathtub.

    Older style hotel with basic furnishings and limited toiletries. Adequate wardrobe hanging space and a bright coloured but spacious bathroom. Our street facing room was noisy during the night but tolerable. The surrounding area is somewhat grubby and untidy but the location is convenient and in easy walking distance to Supermarket and main tourist area. Breakfast was OK but slow to replenish some popular items, Water filling station available near reception and coffee at breakfast is via waiter service. Beer and wine is available at the bar but in limited choices. Central location/proximity is the main attraction and some restaurant options are also close.
