  Wonderful hotel with super location by the sea

  This was an amazing hotel! We stayed four nights in a junior suite with sea view. The room was amazing, the breakfast too. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

  The hotel is perfectly situated if you want to explore Ortigia’s quaint streets, good food and shopping, and Siciliano vibe. Which we did. So from that perspective, it was perfect. The service was also outstanding and personal. So, you may ask, why a 3/5? The room was super small (we stayed in a junior suite with a sea view terrace). The terrace (balcony) was fine. The room was tight and unremarkable, the bathroom was cramped (1 person max occupancy between the shower, sink, toilet - to put it in probably an unfair comparison, the bathroom in the hotel we are currently in has a separate/private toilet, a 2 sink vanity, a shower, and a separate tub). All of that said, I’d recommend based on location and service, but don’t get high expectations about the physical accommodations.

  Beautiful base to explore Ortigia and wonderful staff

  Ahhh, what can I say about this place! The most beautiful setting and the most wonderful staff! We had room 103, small but with the most gorgeous views over the sea. Breakfast a delight and the staff simply can’t do enough for you. Francesca, Francesca, Francesca, Francesco and Alyssia were so nice to us with good comms in advance of our visit and lots of help with restaurant advice and ideas of things to do during our stay, can’t recommend enough.

  We have fond memories of our 4-night stay at Hotel Henry in Ortigia. The staff is outstanding. Extremely informative and friendly are the first adjectives that come to mind. The hotel is close to all the sites on this small island. Not far is the Cathedral of Syracuse. Many restaurants are in easy walking distance too. We came by taxi from the train station. There were patrons of the hotel who had their own car. The hotel will make arrangements for you to where you can have your car parked. The hotel is located on a narrow road with just enough space to walk. You can easily miss their sign. Hotel Henry is decorated in various colorful artwork. Some may describe it as “funky or even quirky” but interesting and fun nonetheless. The area is literally hundreds of years old. One can actually see the old beams of the original building. There is a small elevator for those that upper storied rooms. Having a free drink is a nice touch. Breakfast is superb. Plenty of items to choose from. We liked the abundance of bananas. There is a porch with a sea view to enjoy your meal. You just have to be careful climbing up those steps. We had a sea view room. I don’t think we had the best of sea view rooms, though, as it was semi-private with a walkway in front of the window. In the afternoon one had to use the shutters to block the sun. There was a decent size refrigerator. The drinks were on the house. We had it stocked with “Coke Zero’s.” The bathroom was small too. The water pressure was sufficient. The AC was cold. The bed comfortable.We were given the tip to eat at place called “A Putia.” It is operated by a husband-and-wife team. The food is outstanding. We ate there not once, but three times. We stayed in Ortigia for four days. There is plenty to do such as walking through the market and seeing the Archaeological site and museum. We enjoyed finding he Statue of Archimedes and having our picture taken by the Fountain of Diana. My only regret was not seeing the village of Noto.
