  Good location, affordable and clean rooms!

  A bit of a mixed experience and quite difficult to evaluate. The location is great, next to Maqueda and places to eat. The car parking recommended by the hotel was close and reasonably priced. The hotel and rooms are clean, although cleaning was every two days. The place is not bad for those with mobility issues because you have to climb stairs to get to the rooms. Our room was clean, the bathroom was ok, although the shower cubicle was so small that washing your toes was difficult, Okay. These are still quite comfortable. The beds in the room were mediocre and one of them creaked quite violently from even the slightest movement. The air conditioning in the room was ineffective and when set to full it kept the air from the nipple tolerable. A roll of toilet paper was reserved for the two-day cleaning cycle. That's how it was. However, it was tolerable and since the room's window was really small and had a hatch, you could sleep in the dark. Breakfast. Maybe the most special in a long time. You could get coffee from the machine and it was quite ok. There were a few slices of cold cuts and several customers in the breakfast room. One slice of cheese. No problem, the staff went to get more. Oops. There are now four slices of cheese, but only a few slices of toast and five pieces. There was muesli and some nuts, but no yogurt. The melon is chopped into fingertip-sized pieces. What the hell. Well, the idea is that the breakfast is quite tolerable, but it is served in small portions. I would gladly pay a little more for breakfast so that I don't have to fight over cheese slices with other customers. Transparent plastic tablecloths were placed on the tables for convenience. They are really creepy.In any case, we slept well and the room met our needs, although it didn't offer anything special. The premises were clean and we were able to squeeze another roll of paper from the cleaning lady's things, which was still a little unused when we left. Sorry. The location was absolutely perfect and parking was easy and reasonably priced. The price of staying at the hotel was cheap. This should be evaluated as a whole and the rating should be given based on quality and price without considering anything else.

  Excellent stay in the heart of Palermo.

  Myself and my husband have had a wonderful week staying at the Hotel Columbia. Our room was clean and very comfortable with excellent aircon which was very necessary this week. The hotel is wonderfully situated in a quiet street off the Via Maqueda so in the very heart of the old city. The breakfast was great - more than enough and certainly for a two star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and we couldn’t have asked for more for the very reasonable price we paid. Bed was extremely comfortable and all linen was spotless. There was no noise and we both slept very well here. There’s a brilliant pizza place just down the street from the hotel too which is delicious and very reasonable.

  A little gem in the heart of Palermo, great value, lovely people.

  Hotel Columbia is a budget-price hotel which punches well above its weight. Room was better than fine, exactly as described and pretty impressive for the price. Clearly an old palazzo, beautifully clean, tastefully decorated. Breakfast is good, much better than it needs to be at the price, and the lady serving breakfast is delightful- like my big sister ! Like your big sister ! Like everyone's big sister ! All the staff were helpful, patient and kind. Room was simple and just what we ordered and needed; no frills and excellent value, right in the middle of town just off Via Maqueda ( in via Celso ) but no noise at all. Palermo has so much to offer and.it's great having it on your doorstep if you stay at this hotel, so we are already planning on coming back before summer next year and will definitely be staying at the Columbia.I am particularly keen to leave this review because a couple of others- very few- have been negative. Some people just seem to want to moan, expecting 5 star places on the cheap. Hotel Columbia is so much better than budget; a little gem for more reasonable visitors and worth more than we paid !

  The location is a good advantage, most of attractions are easily reachable on foot,as it's just right off via Maqueda. The bed room is clean, not noisy at night, the bathroom is a bit tacky but can't complain much considering the tariff. Breakfast is normal Italian standard. The reception is kind and helpful too.

  No elevator but they gave me 1st floor room

  There is no elevator but the friendly receptionist change my room to 1st floor room since I have difficulty to climb stairs. Room is basic but good size. Breakfast is good and plenty. Location is very central but quiet. They are refurbishing the adjacent building to a higher star hotel with elevator.
