    Beautiful hotel, poor location!

    rating19 Nov 2025

A trip for my mums Birthday! The hotel was beautiful and clean. Multiple pools to choose from, and the option of a sea swim. Area down to the sea from the hotel is ALOT of steps, quite steep - however it is the option of a small private strip for hotel guests to use. Good breakfast, there was a few business conferences in the background but not of disturbance. Plenty of options, enough to rotate during the trip. The location of the hotel would make us not come back! A 15/20 min walk from the nearest station down a very dangerous road, with no pathway for majority of it! High speed road, and quite bendy. Would be difficult with children and suitcases. No local shop around the hotel, one restaurant opposite which was very nice food. The hotel does have a pizza restaurant which was also lovely. The walk into the local village was also anti-climatic, not much to see and did not feel the safest as two female travellers. We spent most of the trip in the hotel, quite lucky the hotel was lovely!

    rating17 Oct 2025

This hotel is lovely and clean very modern views where good but it’s in the middle of nowhere no shop near no entertainment during the day or night staff don’t understand English they are so rude breakfast ok if you like cakes hotdogs the walk to the harbour from the hotel is so scary no foot paths the cars are so fast it’s just unreal cleaners cleaned every day but only changed sheets once The boat man (don’t know his name) was brilliant gave us lots of places to visit very helpful always checking on us but the rest of the staff so not friendly trying to get the train to go places is a 30 min walk on the crazy road with no footpaths no signs in English to help direct you all in all I will not be going back it’s not my kind of holiday

    Our stay in Domina Zagarella

    rating01 Oct 2025

Nice entrance. Reception staff helpful. Main dining room was a buffet and resembled a staff canteen. Service was non existent and the food was poor quality. The A L'acarte restaurant only served Pizza while we were there. On the whole the staff were frosty, bordering on rude. The setting was good.

Great facilities but unnecessary extra charges

    rating01 Oct 2025

I stayed here with my partner for 10 nights from September to October 2025. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded from a Juliet balcony room to a spacious room with a full balcony and sea view – a lovely start to our stay.Pros: • Cleanliness: The hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Public areas and toilet facilities were clean and regularly attended to. • Facilities: There is always something to do. The hotel offers two pools, a private beach area, gym with a wide range of equipment, padel and tennis courts, ensuring you’re never short of activities. • Evening Entertainment: Each night brought something new – from mini discos to acrobats, dancers and excellent live singers. A special mention to Alessandro, Clarissa and the entertainment team for their fantastic performances. • Staff: Warm, welcoming and always ready with a friendly greeting, which made the overall atmosphere very positive.Cons: • Vegetarian/Vegan Options: The buffet food was not labelled, which made dining stressful as a vegetarian. On several occasions I almost picked up meat by mistake. Clear labelling would make a big difference. • Dining Experience: The buffet was often very crowded with large groups attending for day trips or corporate events. This sometimes led to long queues, noisy dining, and food running out. I’d recommend going early to avoid this. • ‘D Club’ Exclusivity: Large areas of the hotel, including parts of the restaurant, café, pool, beach, and even a private lounge, were reserved for ‘D Club’ guests. While I understand premium services, it did create a sense of division and made standard-paying guests feel somewhat second class. • Extra Charges: Some small extras felt unnecessary – for example, a fee to park in the hotel car park €12 or near the hotel €8. The café and bar prices were also on the expensive side compared to local alternatives.Overall:This hotel offers excellent facilities, cleanliness, and entertainment, making it a great choice if you’re looking for plenty to do. However, for vegetarians and vegans, the lack of food labelling is a serious drawback. Additionally, the atmosphere around exclusivity and busy dining could be improved.

A good stay... not excellent. but still, a good resort.

    rating30 Sept 2025

9 night stay. extensive review. The resort : Modern, clean, well maintained, nice pools. rooms are nice but he walls are pretty thin. Balcoies small with no table, ash tray and in our case, just a single chair. Our room was the Prestige Double Room which is no different than the double room - just that is has a sea view, Nice bathroom, good water presure. So, with teh rooms out of the way. The staff. The best are the cleaners. friendly, efficient and they do a good job. Reception staff are helpful too. other staff could certainly improve, but there may also be a language barrier.Food. breakfst is included. BUT. It's not a very good breakfast. Evey day, teh same. basically, nothing changes. Bacon is cheap quality rubbish, sauages are cold. scramled eggs taste weird. This place could really do more. No outside seatig and the windows ae frosted over. There is a lso a medical service and gift shop.THE Area.. A bit away from anything interesting. you need to walk. there is a local free service from the municipality but unreliable and infrequent. Nearest train station is about 1.5km away where Italian train are not very reliable and service is also infrequent. Taxis are difficult to get. The nearest big town, Bagheria has no evening taxis or uber. there are 2 good restaurants nearby though. The resort food is expensive. Euro 30 a person for a buffet. The local restaurants do it better and cheaper. This resort is a timeshare resort. D-Club, it's called. Timeshare holders have seperate seating in the restaurant, seperate sun loungers, club area. It does make you feel a bit like a 2nd class visitor allowed in to keep the place profitable. All in all, once you learn how to get around the area and come to terms with a very boring breakfast scenario, the overall experience is good.Management could make sure the little things get improved. It makes the difference between good and excellent. I has mentioned ome of teh short comings and that evening, complimenary champage and cake was deliveered which was a nice touch.
