    A wonderful stay in Trapani

    Giardini Mon Plaisir was our favorite hotel during our recent vacation in Sicily. The building itself is an old family home that Agostino, the owner and our host, has updated into a lovely bed and breakfast. Our bedroom was quiet – indeed the whole house is very quiet even though it sits in an urban neighborhood – and well laid out. The second floor has a wonderful common sitting room. As a first introduction to Giardini Mon Plaisir we were given a refreshing drink outside in the large courtyard with antique statues. There is also a small pool available to guests. Breakfasts were wonderful. Excellent coffee, breads, ripe fruit and made to order scrambled eggs. The tables are set far apart providing plenty of privacy.The hotel is a little outside the historic center but one can take the bus or a cab to reach the historical center or other sites. If you arrive with a car, there is parking in front of the house behind the properties gate. As an added attraction there is a wonderful museum , Museo Regionale Agostino Pepoli, a three minute walk from the front gates.But what makes it most special is that Agostino is a perfect host. He suggested places to visit, helped with reservations and arranged cab rides for us. He also shared family stories and a bit of personal history. Roberto and other staff members are also warm and accommodating.

    The Charm of Western Sicily

    At Giardini Mon Plaisir, we found real Sicilian hospitality. The elegant estate has been beautifully renovated, preserving its historic architecture. The rooms feature high ceilings and the original ceramic floors, alongside exceptionally comfortable mattresses with premium quality linens, and well-pressed white linen towels by the sink and bidet.Central airconditioning and silence provided us a very pleasant night.Breakfast was a delightful daily ritual, served in the salon or in the garden every morning. The polite team served a spread of local sweet and savory of Trapani delicacies, eggs cooked to our liking, a basket of a variety of seasonal fruits, charcuterie, cheeses and fresh red orange juice (spremuta) from the trees of their own garden.Agostino and the Mon Plaisir team curate experiences, arranging picnic baskets with local products, wine tastings from the family’s vineyard, romantic dinners, and evening drinks in the garden.The property is strategically located for exploring Western Sicily. It was our fourth time at Mon Plaisir . There are so many places to visit:Marsala, the pristine turquoise waters of the Zingaro Nature Reserve beaches, the Egadi Islands, the historic salt pans, the ancient Greek temple of Segesta, and other historic villages.A pleasant swimming pool provided a relaxing end of the day.We would like to thank Agostino, Alessandro, Roberto and Simona for making our Sicilian dream a reality.Grazie mille!     This place is just amazing. The villa is gorgeous, Agostino is the best host and Roberto is just great. Nothing is too much trouble and they will go above and beyond to make your stay special. It is about 20 mins by taxi from the airport (around €35/40, and about 10 mins by bus to the centre €1.50 cash only. (Bus station is two minutes from the villa). 10 minutes walk from the cable car to go to Erice (a must). So well situated. Breakfast is lovely and plentiful.We had a picnic in the garden when we arrived about 1pm and an evening meal when we got back from Palermo one evening and both were very tasty. The pool was a welcome treat after a day out. You cannot go wrong with a stay at Giardini Mon Plaisir. Grazie Mille !     A relaxing oasis of peace

    This was our first visit to Trapani and the first time we’d stayed at Giardini Mon Plaisir. We hope it won’t be our last. Located a 10 minute drive from the historic centre of Trapani, Giardini Mon Plaisir is ideally placed to provide a base both for visiting Trapani and the surrounding area. On-site car parking was secure and the room we stayed in (the “studio”) was large and comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent and included sweet and savoury options. Giardini Mon Plaisir is a very professionally run establishment. From the moment we booked, the owner, Agostino, drip-fed welcoming and informative emails, explaining the location and its nearby attractions. On arrival, One of Agostino’s attentive staff, Roberto, took time to familiarise us with the location of the property in relation to Trapani and recommended restaurants. Agostino took time to speak to use each day with was very useful when selecting a beach to visit. The pre-prepared summary of potential locations to visit (a PDF) was very useful and led us to a memorable occasion which we wouldn’t have otherwise found. We’re very pleased we chose to stay at Giardini Mon Plaisir.     The first impression is a very welcoming and friendly staff. The hotel is beautiful and elegantly decorated. The garden is nice and quiet. The staff and owner gave valuable insights to the city and surroundings. The area of the hotel is nice, but quite far from restaurants. Having a private parking is a big asset for the place as well.
