    Great location and Grand lobby but the perks ended there.

    The hotel is very grand and the lobby is quite beautiful as mentioned. The location is perfect and outside the ZTL so easy to drive to, if needed. But this is not a 4 star level property. Our room looked beautiful on first glance but not so much on further inspection as there was a fair amount of damage like ripped carpet and a broken vanity. The shower was disappointing for a hotel a this level and the shower head sprayed in all directions. Our room was so noisy we were up all night even with wearing ear plugs. I was shocked by the level of noise which didn't slow down until about 330 am. I would request a quiet room if booking here, if possible. We also thought the bedding and pillow comfort here was the worst out of the 4 hotels in Sicily we stayed at. They felt old and flat. We checked our bags since we checked in early which is no big deal but when returning, we were surprised our things weren't already brought to our room and then waited almost an hour to get our bags, making us late to our food tour. There appeared to be only one bellman for a hotel of this size. I also found the front desk being enclosed in glass a bit strange.     Perfect pick for Tuscany

    Perfect location. We were able to walk to all of our meeting points for our tours. 10 to 15 minutes tops. Rooms were immaculate. We purchased a room that slept 3 because of the traditionally small European room sizes and it was perfect. This is a higher end hotel so cost is dependent on your budget. It was definitely worth the price to us.Staff was polite and attentive always a pleasant greeting. The hotel is right on the street so it was a little nosier than most but not unreasnable.     Excellent experience, the staff was very attentive and friendly. Delicious breakfast, great location in the center of town, comfortable room and great old world atmosphere.     Wonderful hotel in the heart of Palermo

    Highly recommend! This is a charming hotel if you wish to experience authentic Sicilian old world elegance in the heart of the city steps fom Teatro Massimo. Though there is no restaurant in the hotel, an excellent breakfast buffet is included, and they do have room service with a 5 star Italian menu for both lunch and dinner. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful, and the concierge found a great guide for my entire stay.     Wonderful stay but management needs some work

    We loved staying here. We were there for 12 nights, and you can observe a lot in that amount of time. First of all the hotel is beautiful, exactly as pictured on the website. A bit on the old fashioned side, to be sure, but that is totally our style. We found the decor to be lovely. The front desk checked us in and out efficiently, with a smile and were very responsive when we needed an extra blanket. It was at our door in less than 10 minutes. They were sure to ask us at check out how our stay was, which other hotels often skip completely. We had a superior room on the 3rd floor. It was spacious and had a large bathroom. The bathroom had standard amenities, a shower, a bidet and my beloved magnifying mirror! The cleaning staff did a great job every day and were extremely kind to us when we had to stay in the room due to sickness (unrelated to the hotel). But, as many reviews have mentioned, the best part is the staff. From the front desk, to the bar, to the cleaning staff and especially the breakfast staff. Alessia, Giovanna (who gave us great advice when we were sick) and especially Davide, who is probably the kindest person we have ever met. We were greeted warmly every morning and treated like royalty, as were all the guests. That said, I would like to address the upper management of the hotel. As I said, you observe a lot in 12 days. What we observed was a management that did not treat the employees well. Once, at breakfast, someone who was obviously a member of the management team strolled in for their morning cappuccino and cornetto. Once it even appeared to be the hotel/building owner. We were astonished and VERY upset to observe these people treating the staff poorly. Not a smile or a kind word or even a simple thank you, EVER. Why on earth would you treat these very hard working people like this? They are running around like chickens with their heads cut off to make breakfast a wonderful experience. It was unprofessional and unbecoming of people in leadership positions. Your staff is your best asset. DO BETTER.I will still give a 5 star review for all the reasons previously stated.
