    Lovely Spring Break

    rating22 May 2026

Mazzaro was a busy little place during the day but very quiet at night.(late Apr) Ideally located by the cable car to Toamina. Hotel was very comfortable, food plentiful and staff very accommodating.

A hotel that delivers views, comfort and great food.

It's a fantastic hotel with excellent service. The breakfast is good as are the evening meals. A skip and a hop to the cable car up to the fabulous city of Taormina. The terrace is delightful to sit and relax. I didn't want to leave.

    Relaxing holiday in this hotel

    rating17 May 2026

Beautiful view of the bay from terrace. Very relaxed atmosphere. Our rooms were spacious and very clean. Lovely to have a bath to relax in after a hard day of sightseeing. The hotel itself was quiet but there is a noisy road and train below though only during the day. Evenings were quiet. Breakfasts were very good, dinner sufficient. The staff were very helpful. A special big shout out to Sara who looked after us really well and provided a lovely, personal and friendly touch. Would definitely recommend this hotel

    Not 4*

    rating16 May 2026

The Baia Azzurra is billed as a 4* hotel unfortunately this is not the reality. The staff are first class and friendly, the cleanliness in the hotel is also first class however the fabric of the building would be around 2*.First impression of the hotel made us think what have we done, absolutely no kerb appeal whatsoeverThe rooms are very dated with peeling and stained wallpaper, the wood work around the doors and skirting board were chipped and looked as if they had not been painted in some time.In the bathroom one of the walls was painted brown making it dull, dingy and dirty looking, it also had the smallest shower I have ever seenThe bar in reception was unmanned and had an honesty policy whereby you took what you required and noted it on a clipboard beside the bar.The hotel had a very large roof terrace with fabulous views over the sea and beach. This area was in dire need of some TLC it had 3 sunbeds and an array of broken chairs and tables, such neglect in what could an amazing space. It is in such a great location but looks run down and in need of a complete make over, the decor is very much 1970s eraSuch a shame as it could be a lovely hotel

Very poor and not much going on of a hotel, needs some big changes

    rating18 Apr 2026

How this is a 4 star hotel I will never know, the rooms were clean but more like hostel hotel rooms, shutters on the windows so you can’t even open the windows, no swimming pool, I booked breakfast and dinner included, the breakfast was the same everyday and not much to close from, and the only hot drinks you could have was a cappuccino or hot milk, the dinner was ok but it wasnt a buffet and you have to choose what you wanted and no drinks included you even had to pay for water, the bar area no one was never there and you probably had a choice of about 10 alcohol drinks to choose from, most of the staff was ok apart from the afternoon/evening receptionist seem like you was bothering her every time you asked a question, so I didn’t bother even speaking to her after the first day
