Great place to stay. Close to everything and good value for money. Good responsive management too. Would recommend.

An Oasis in Catania

This hotel was our saviour after we were stranded in Catania following the latest Mount Etna eruption. Quirky yes - entrance up a back street yes - but the decor blew me away - I felt as though I had been transported back about a hundred years - the artwork on the ceilings was mesmerising- thank you EasyJet for slamming us in a hotel for one night only beforehand and then leaving us to sort out our own accommodation during a very busy festival period where we could easily have ended up in the streets with nowhere to sleep. The wonderful young ladies in the reception of this hotel soothed our nerves and got us to the airport on Monday morning so we could get home. I love you both!

Great traditional hotel in the heart of the Old Town. Perfect location, restaurants, fish market and shops all within a few mins walk. The rooms were spotless, beds super comfy and the pillows were to die for! Great sleep had by all. Bathrooms were a little basic and could do with upgrading. My friends felt a kettle in the room would have improved their stay. Limited staff availability and some confusion when we arrived. There didn’t seem to be any difference between standard rooms and the superior rooms, when asked the difference was told ‘all rooms are the same’ so be mindful of this when choosing yr room. Overall, great value for money and would highly recommend with a few tweaks.

The location is ACE. Seriously, I can see few better. You’re literally off the heart of Via Etna and yet the street is quiet. I had a room with an outside bathroom. Both were immaculately clean. Good water pressure for the shower and hot water anytime. Hair dryer provided too. Honestly the walk from my room to the bathroom is not that big a deal and I knew it was separate going in. The bed was SO comfortable! Not too hard nor too soft. Pillows also very good, in that vein of being perfectly medium. There’s an extra duvet in the roomy closet as the floor tiles are cold. You can put heating on though: there’s an AC unit with directions for best and cold. I didn’t turn it on so I don’t know how well it heats. Desk in the room to work as well if you wish. The room fridge is benefit and the host kindly offers gratis a cooled bottle of water and a soda in there. Definitely comfortable for solo traveler or a couple for a few nights. Wifi was overall great for uploading photos and videos on social but a bit iffy with video calls. Absolutely gorgeous salon/parlour!Minor cons:The TV didn’t work and wasn’t fixed despite me asking one AM. But this is SO minor, as I only wanted to turn it on for background noise once. The reception also gave an Asian tourist an eye roll one time for asking to eat breakfast in the parlour. So it’s just for show and to taunt guests??!!

This is a beautiful old hotel in a great location. REALLY comfortable queen bed, AC, reasonably quiet and a good price. Would definitely use again! No breakfast but many lovely cafes close by, walkable yo all things “Catania” but recommend bus or can to train station
