A welcoming place - reception was fantastic. The room was warm, stylish, well equipped with mini bar. The bed was very comfortable. We were tired and slept well. I especially liked the pillows which were memory type (must get some for home). Ibla is an interesting part of Ragusa. Enjoyed breakfast. Lunch on our second day wax at La Racletterie, 15 pzza della Republica, above the cafe (turn right out of hotel up the slope to bus stop) 2 mins walk tel 0932. 621933 - we had a beautiful meal, excellent service in a stylish/atmospheric interior. The Itria Palace is a palace of the fourth century built on the ancient wall of the DiQuattro Palace. The upper floor houses the hotel with fine furniture, beautiful Murano glass lighting fixtures. It also boasts of Bohemian Crystal and artistic porcelain. The garden is well manicured and the plantings pop in front of the former palace wall. The room we stayed in had a rustic stone wall behind the headboard and a double shuttered window that opened onto a balcony overlooking the gardens where one could sit and enjoy coffee in the morning. The breakfast bar featured fresh cutup fruit yoghurt with granola and other toppings. Also featured were what I call Dolci or sweets. There were croissants filled with chocolate, almond paste, and fruits, varied muffins and bread from rye to pumpernickel and everything in between. The counter held terrines of various juices and a coffee machine that purveyed out lattes, cappuccino, Americano, and other coffees. There were also several types of cheeses that accompanied varied sliced ham and salamis. Olives, caponata, Scaccia (A tomato-cheese-layered loaf with a distinct al dente pasta-like inside and a crusty bread-like exterior) and Buffalo ricotta cheese were there for choosing. Hard-boiled eggs were available for the American palette.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this relaxing upscale hotel.

Great hotel in a perfect location

If you want to visit the historic part of Ragusa, Ragusa Ibla (which is the town of Vigata in Inspector Montalbano you can’t go wrong with this hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious and air conditioned, the breakfast is included and very typical of the region. The staff were particularly helpful especially Sarah and ?Valeria on reception, who recommended some excellent restaurants nearby. The location was excellent for Ragusa Ibla but also handy for Modica and Scicli. The only downside is that the free parking is in a public car park which might be full. We were ok but you are not guaranteed a space.

Stayed overnight on a tour of Sicily. Excellent room in a building across from the main hotel.Staff very helpful, breakfast good and price very reasonable. Free parking just beneath the hotel however if using satnav try to put car park in to prevent having to go around a lot of tight streets to get to outside hotel door. Only 50 metres difference but you will miss some awkward driving
