  Good location on a very walkable island. Relatively quiet since its located away from the busiest part of the island. Probably okay for backpackers. We reserved two rooms through a third party booking service. The room on the ground floor was small but clean. No elevator for the "two bedroom apartment" on the third floor that we booked. The room was actually a bedroom in a loft above a sitting room and kitchen. The second "bedroom" was a pull-out sofa in the sitting room. The only bathroom was in the back of the loft that offered little privacy between the two "bedrooms". Lighting presented an issue if someone had to use the bathroom at night. The toilet was broken (did not flush). We informed the front desk immediately, and they stated that they would fix it. It was never fixed during our stay. Fortunately we were able to figure out how to flush it by manually lifting the plunger inside the tank. The management attempted to "comp" us by offering breakfast, but offered nothing else for the issue related to the room not as advertised and the issue of the broken toilet. The booking service accepted our complaint but without any compensation stating that the hotel had already processed our advanced payment.

  The hotel is terrible, not even a single corner of the room was clean, me and my roommate were shocked and so all of our classmates. We found hairs in the bedsheets and in the towels, the bathroom was in unspeakable conditions. When we were just arrived and were given to us the keys, one of my friends tried to open the door and she remained with the handle in her hands. Worms and centipedes were found in the sink, under the bed and on the night table. Some of us were forced to use the same towels for the consecutive three days because the staff of the hotel refused to change them and so some of us have to dry ourselves with the same wet towels during the whole journey. No matter if you wanna spend a relaxing holiday or if you wanna explore this zone of Sicily, here you won’t find comfort, ON THE CONTRARY, here you will feel dirty. In fact I found traces of a jelly whitish substance on my duvet cover and last but not least even if you want to use your personal data mobile it won’t function, is like your phone dies during your stay in the walls of this hotel

  Ok so we are used to camping holidays in Scotland, so we accept that the property needs a major renovation, don’t know where the 3 star rating came from!But at this price having a decent location from which to explore the area is a good deal, only complaints are that at certain points of the day the toilets smells, the kitchen lacks a kettle but on reflection who cares when you are in a wonderful location!,

  Myself and my partner had our first holiday in Sicily. We had a wondrful time, loads to see and do.The hotel is pleasent, clean and tidy. Our room was basic, but comfortable. I was a little disappointed the pictures didn't match reality. There wasn't a mention of the roof terrace and not all facilities seemed to be available. However, the staff are amazing, super helpful and will do everything they can to make your stay wonderful.I will say, it would be helpful if the hours of check in at reception are noted on the website. We were not notified reception was so limited and last check in was at 7pm. Also, the contact details on Loveholidays is incorrect. This needs to be updated. Our stay was reduced to 3 nights as had to pay extra for another hotel due to reception being closed when we arrived. Make sure you get flights which allow for the check in times at the hotel. Other than this, we had a wonderful holiday and are looking to come back next year.

  Just returned from this charming hotel/apartment very clean and spacious with kitchen diner, shower room and large bedroom the a Juliet balcony overlooking the ocean. Ortigia is a wonderful place and we just enjoyed wandering around it’s narrow streets with wonderful buildings and vistas, but best of all was the brilliant receptionist Anna Marie who could not have been any more helpful.
