  There were only two of us in the room so it was easy to use the bathroom and charge devices but it might have been cramped with more. The staff were excellent, really friendly and gave us great advice about the local bar and bakery etc. If you like healthy breakfasts you will need to buy your own muesli or brown bread as the breakfast provided is Sicilian pastries and white bread. Plenty of tea bags and milk for tea drinkers at breakfast time. A drink from the bar was really good value and we enjoyed an Aperol cocktail and red wine. It was a 20 minute walk to the Greek Monument and the old town and a couple of minutes from the station which made arrival and departure very easy.

  Professional and friendly staff, but try to avoid the 12-bed-dorm

  Convenient location near the train and bus station and only a short walk from the historical city center. Professional, very friendly and helpful staff, nice basic breakfast. Dorms, toilets, showers and common areas are spotless clean.However, while the 6-bed-dorm is spacious enough, the 12-bed-dorm is completely overcrowded with very little space to breath and move (and not enough plugs), and with two tiny bathroom/showers in the dorm for 12 people... well you can imagine. At least for me the Wifi worked perfectly in the common areas, but almost never in the dorms

  The hostel was just what I needed. It was in the perfect location between Italian classes I was taking and Ortigia. They had good recommendations for places to eat around and things to do. I was happy with my bed and the room. At one point we needed the door to the bathroom to be adjusted and they took care of this right away. Just really down to earth good people and a nice place to stay. I would recommend to others without hesitation.

  Excellent location, but little else. — TitleSlow registration process, too much handwriting registration and receipts on paper, all of it averaged about 10 minutes/person. WiFi Absolutely SUCKS, erratic and often very slow to useless. Huge Time-suck. YouTube? Forget it. Pathetic on all 3 of my digital devices in both dorm room and lounge. Half the time I could not even access the WiFi because I kept receiving the message: ’Another device on your network is using your IP address’. Complete all time-sensitive online tasks before arriving at LoL Hostel. Cramped dorm room, 1/2 meter between bunk beds, insufficient power outlets, top bunks have personal lights, but lower bunks had a stand-alone light that connected to the power outlet. Let’s see….do I want to power my phone and tablet this evening while sitting in the dark?, or have the light on and run out of power on my devices….? Breakfast: great if you like chocolate, sugar and salt…but how about something nutritious and healthy? And what’s with making coffee in a ‘carafe for 2’ that constantly runs out in a ‘hostel lodging dozens’? And how about a pitcher of water, and not the terrible tasting tap water the hostel’s taps deliver. Really, who is the Idiot that manages this LoL Hostel?

  The whole stay was just perfect. Rooms are quiet and well organised, bunk beds are comfy, bathrooms clean, all the place is super beautiful generally speaking. The staff was professional and helpful. I loved the cheap bar, drinks for as little as 3€. Lovely breakfast! It is everything a hostel is supposed to be and a bit more.
