  Very central location, the atmosphere around it was excellent, the room was spacious although the bed not so comfortable, good though for a short stay. Value for money was very good. It was clean with average noise and all the necessary amenities.

  Great location but some problems!

  As a group of four we experienced 4 different types of room- although we all booked the same type of room. Two rooms had balcony with a view of the church- v pleasant. I had a balcony overlooking an internal area surrounded by other apartments so I only got to see other peoples washing- ! But the very worst ( and reason for 3 stars) was room number 3. This had the worst smell of sewerage from the bathroom - windows that didn’t open and v noisy at night. My friend was moved when she requested as the smell had got worse. This room is not fit for purpose and should not be rented. I do not like giving bad reviews but on this occasion it is necessary. My other friend had to ask to be moved as the beds are very low and not suitable for her. In fairness to Bianca she moved her to a much more suitable room- Overall location is great, breakfast is lovely with the best coffee served by the extremely professional and friendly Leia. Rooms clean and my bathroom was functioning fine. But overall this accommodation was not suitable for us.

  At the very core of Ortigia, but quiet and discreet. Bianca’s assistance at the Reception Desk meant keeping it open for another half an hour after closing business time to personally greet us and ensure everything was OK (we were in a group of eight). Priceless.

  Not quite what I expected.

  I'm going to start off saying that the room was very pretty, and the location is excellent. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this place was not what I expected. The office is a bit difficult to find if you don't know where you are going. In all the other places we stayed this trip, they would take you to your room and show you around. The lady at the desk was very friendly, but not helpful with showing me around. I got the key then had to go back down to our car where we had to quickly unload the luggage to our room so we could move our car and take it to the big parking lot. The B & B didn't have any of the normal little tourist maps to show us how to get back on foot. I was told I could look for a tourist info, but it turned out they were closed on weekends, which is when we were in Ortigia. I believe all the pictures you see of the view from the decks are taken from the 4th floor. We were on the 3rd floor and we just looked out at the back of the church. The first morning I had a shower and used the hand held shower head to wash my hair. I guess there wasn't any caulking between the shower wall and base because after our two showers, water was leaking out from under the wall, from under the tile floor in the bathroom and was even leaking outside our room into the hall. We had to use all of our towels to try to sop up the water. Also, one of the shutters on the window didn't work at all, and the other one only went half way down, so it was very bright very early in the morning. We showed the problem to a gentleman from the office, but he didn't seem too concerned about it. Judging from the water damage on the wood, this leaking shower has been a problem for a while. The breakfast was good, but the room is very crowded with tables and they didn't have any coffee the first morning. I loved our stay in Ortigia, but I just wish our room didn't have these problems.

  Utter Con Men.

  This place is a scam. We booked one room for 5 nights. We had to cancel due to storm damage with our roof. By their cancellation policy we shouldvhave been charged 1 night, which would have been fine. They charged us 10 nights! They totally ignored every email we sent them, and basically just conned us out of our money. Absolute cowboys. For God's sake read the bad reviews before you think about this place.
