  Great location, friendly staff, poor bathrooms, complicated parking arrangements.

  One of the more mixed reviews I’ve ever had to write. There were extremes of both good and bad in our short stay. The good:Fantastic location - all major tourist attractions in a very short walk. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts on the sun terrace. The bad:Not easy to find or park - official address takes you to a tiny side street with no parking whatsoever. You can drive round in a circle and try to park in the adjacent square, but space is at a premium. It’s possible to book, very limited, space in the hotel courtyard. If so, make sure you are in contact with the hotel when you’re close by so they can let you in. Otherwise you’re circling around trying to find somewhere to stop. Hotel reception is on the 4th floor. Ground level entrance feels like a block of old apartments. Not at all welcoming, dark and dingy. Lift is tiny, may have to wait to use it. Main reception is very basic and small. It works but, again, it’s not very welcoming. To get to some rooms you have to wander around corridors and take a different lift down one floor. To leave the hotel you have to take this lift up again and then call the 2nd lift to go down. It’s kinda quirky but not desperately ‘charming’ as it might appear from the historic building. The room was very basic, small, sparsely furnished and, in all honesty, the bathroom was awful. Mould stains all around the shower area that look as if they’ve been there a long, long, time. On balance it was ‘OK’ and the combination of lovely staff (especially at breakfast) and location outweigh the complicated stuff - although that bathroom made my wife feel ill. For the price, it works for a one or two night stay, certainly not as a base for a longer trip until they sort the overall decor out.

  Good enough for a city stay of 1 night, wouldn't bother for longer stays

  Very close to city centre, there's paid parking spaces right outside for 90c per hour. The room was spacious for a city centre. The bathroom needs more care. The shower head was old and dirty, the shower had more space but had only a small shower tray. Toilet paper wasn't provided as a roll, but you had to pull out papers from a "machine". Limited breakfast options.

  Perfect location; great staff

  This hotel is in a near-perfect location, a quiet square just a couple of minutes from the duomo and main streets, 10mins from the Greco-Roman Theatre and the Rotunda, and less than 15 to the train station. The unprepossessing entrance belies a clean and welcoming 4th floor hotel. We had the spectacular suite but peeked at other rooms and any would have been acceptable. The suite though is glorious, with it's stucco ceiling and sitting area. The shower is old but functions perfectly well and the towelling gowns and flip flops were welcome additions at the end of a day sight-seeing. As other reviews have said, the place is made by the staff and we give a particular shout out to Jessica, who expertly combines friendliness and warmth with efficiency, and also to Stephanie who could not do enough to make sure that breakfast was a really enjoyable experience.We hope to go back sometime!

  Hotel situated at 4th floor in old building. Central location, clean room. Very friendly reception staff. Breakfast can be been more better!
