Giulia at the Lime bar is an absolute pleasure and the live music is so lovely, I actually cried! So magical and such an amazing experience. Mangia’s Brucoli

    rating02 Jun 2026

We had a great time at this hotel. All of the staff were very helpful and approachable. There are lots of activities to do and the kids pool and kids club is great for families with young children. On the last day we went to a pizza making class hosted by Ferdinando and Chef Mello. Ferdinando explained the history of pizza, which was very interesting. The class was great and they had a singer and guitarist playing during the class. The pizza was exceptional. It was such a great experience. Beware of this hotel & their management

    rating02 Jun 2026

I would not recommend booking here.I tried to book a special night away for my girlfriend and me. I selected the dates but 10 seconds later I realized there was an issue with the dates and asked for help changing them.Despite that, the hotel refused to offer a credit, refund, or any real solution. They kept the full amount around €300 — even though I contacted them right away and the room could easily have been resold over 10 days out..For a property presented as a 5-star resort, I found the handling of this situation really disappointing. Mistakes happen, but the complete lack of flexibility or care from Keswan and the management was honestly shocking.I had hoped for a beautiful experience here, but instead I left feeling taken advantage of. Sharing this so other travelers are aware before booking. Five-Star Prices, One-Star Effort

    rating30 May 2026

We had very high expectations for Mangia’s Brucoli, especially as a 5-star Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. The property itself looks amazing, the facilities are lovely, and the rooms were very good overall. Housekeeping was also great, so credit where it is due.Unfortunately, the service, especially anything related to food and beverage, was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what we would expect from a 5-star hotel.Check-in was a little slow, but nothing too serious, and our first impression was still positive. The room itself was great, with no real complaints, apart from the pillows which personally affected my sleep, although this was not something I felt was worth complaining about during the stay. The real problem started with the service. There was a general feeling of apathy from many of the staff, particularly around the restaurants and bars. Our experience at Donna Floriana was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had.We had booked a table, but it was not ready when we arrived. Once seated, we waited around 15 minutes just to receive menus, and even then we were given three wine lists and three menus for a table of six adults. We were not even offered water while waiting. After ordering wine, we then waited a long time for it to arrive. A lady who appeared to be a manager came to ask us which wine we had ordered only after we had followed up, and once the bottle finally arrived, we were left sitting for a further period of time there with the bottle but no wine glasses.A waiter eventually apologised for the delay in getting the food, blaming it on the fact that one of our group was pregnant and had asked for her tuna steak to be cooked thoroughly. This felt like a very poor excuse, especially considering all the other basic service issues. When the food finally arrived, half of the dishes were wrong. One person accepted the wrong dish just to avoid waiting even longer, and the response was simply “thanks”. We had to get up ourselves for basic things like salt and pepper, as staff rarely checked on the table. To make matters worse, we were still charged for the dishes we had not ordered. Instead of properly correcting the issue, we were offered desserts and liqueurs on the house, which we declined. Desserts were still brought to the table anyway, and they appeared to be leftovers from the buffet next door. There were other service issues throughout the stay. At times, reception was very quick and helpful, but on other occasions requests were ignored completely. One day, the pizza place was closed, so we ordered sandwiches from Lime Bar. One of us ordered the vegan option, which arrived with what looked like octopus tentacles used as decoration on the plate. When we asked about it, we were told it was a kitchen mistake. Another sandwich was served on stale grilled ciabatta, and when we questioned it, the response was simply that “it’s ciabatta”, as though we did not know what grilled ciabatta should be like.Breakfast was also disappointing from a service point of view. Many tables were not cleaned, and we constantly had to ask for basic things to be done. You often felt invisible. We also tried Il Grano, the hotel’s pizza outlet. Since we had previously found it closed, we asked what time it closed and were told 2:30pm. The staff member was very adamant that we had to come before 2:30pm, so we made sure to do so. When we asked for the pizzas to be cut, the pizzaiolo asked whether we were going to share six pizzas. When we asked what difference that made, the facial expression and attitude we received were far from welcoming. He seemed annoyed during the entire time we were there. The facilities themselves are very nice, but the absence of lifts is a real inconvenience when you have a pushchair, and I can imagine it being even more difficult for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. The outlets also seem to have strange opening hours, so you really need to manage your time around them. We did not even manage to try the steakhouse. There were also issues with the entertainment. One evening, entertainment was meant to include a DJ, singer, and another DJ. The final DJ never played, and we were left with playback music instead. We asked the bar staff if the entertainment was still happening and were told they were coming, but they never did.The internet was also poor. We could not use Netflix properly over the hotel Wi‑Fi and had to rely on our own mobile data.Another disappointment was the Champions League final on Saturday. The hotel did not show it in any outlet, nor did they make any effort to help guests watch it. We ended up having to watch it in our room on a German channel, which was very disappointing for a hotel of this level.Value for money is always subjective, but we felt we were paying a premium for the location and facilities rather than the service. Sicily is generally very good value for food, but this was not the case here, so at the very least we expected proper service and a 5-star standard. When we gave slight hints of complaint during our short stay, we were not satisfied with how things were handled. There is a lot for this hotel to improve. To sum it up, the place itself is lovely and the facilities are great, but the service was so poor that we would definitely not return. For a 5-star Marriott Autograph Collection hotel, this was a very disappointing experience. Keswan Monien, General Manager at Mangia's Brucoli, Sicily, Autograph Collection, responded to this review Dear Mr. Ryan,we sincerly apologize for the bad service we provided mainly how the team manage Your concerns and sometimes completely non of our standard, we can understand Your disappointment and we apologize again for all the issues You reported, regardsKeswan MonienGeneral Manager
