    Nice hotel with great staff

    rating07 Oct 2024

We stayed for three nights in a double room (Antonio). The hotel is located between 15 - 20mins from the Old Town depending upon where you are going so a bit of a walk but there are regular buses.Prior to our stay the communication from Ingrid was very good - she kindly provided some restaurant recommendations and then details on how to access the hotel / room out of hours. The hotel has a pleasant and spacious lobby and the rooms are equally sizeable. The is a large double bed, small table / sofa and TV (which has Sky). The bathroom was large but the shower is just in a small cubicle sadly (although this is apparently usual in Italy). There is also a small kitchen area with microwave, fridge, sink etc etc.It is worth noting that some of the rooms look out onto a busy road (Via Giovanni Battista Fardella) and so this can be noisy (we stayed over a weekend and it was very noisy on the Saturday night).Breakfast is available for a small charge (just 5 euros per person) and whilst its pretty basic (cereals, yogurts, toast, cheese, meat and croissants (sometimes they were pre-packed but on most days it was fresh ones) along with tea / coffee we thought it was very good value. There are plenty of cafes locally if you would prefer to eat out.WiFi is available and was very good.As others have said street parking is widely available - just need to find the spaces with white lines as these are free (spaces with blue lines will need to be paid for at certain times) BUT you must make sure that you aren't parked in them on the days when that side of the street is due to be cleaned (there is good signage indicating when this is due to happen on each street). We ate in Trapani centre on each of our three nights - we can recommend Zero5 Pizza & Cucina (was very good) and Al Vicoletto (was excellent and the best restaurant we ate in during our stay in Sicily).Service from the hotel team was really good and they checked in with us every time they saw us to ensure we were ok and if we needed any help.In summary a pretty basic hotel which was good value for money and has great staff - we would be happy to stay here again.

Good location, easy parking, smart modern building

    rating29 Mar 2022

What a cool property in a great location! A very glamorous lobby followed by a huge room. We were in the Aurora suite on the front side of the building - complete with a balcony - and it has a washing machine (you have to request this room). Good communication with Ingrid on WhatsApp prior to and after arrival. The lobby is not staffed 24 hrs - so Ingrid gave us a door code, talked us into the lobby where we found our room key, and we checked ourselves in! We were able to unload our suitcases right out front on a blue parking zone, and then moved our car to a free white zone one block down and and the corner. Just check the signs for the day they do street washing - otherwise no restrictions. Our room was huge with a small well equipped kitchen. The bathroom was huge with a tiny shower - common in Italy - but ample hot water. We couldn't get our air conditioner to function but when we spoke to the day staff who speaks primarily Italian - it looks like it was 'operator error' so get someone who speaks English to show you how. We were able to open windows but there is car and pedestrian traffic into the wee hours of the morning. There really is no breakfast offered - although there is a small dining room with a coffee machine and tea kettle. They put a few pastry and toast things that come in plastic - like airplane food - in your room and voila that's your continental breakfast! No worries - lots of fresh fruit vendors and other stores nearby. In fact you are well located to the wide shopping promenade. You can also walk to the sea boardwalk or to the historic area in about 10 minutes. This is a great location with ease of arrival and parking - no hassles with ZTL or narrow streets in the historic part. We would stay here again.

    Nice

We chose the Map as part of a holiday dialysis offer. We arrived late and our room key wasn't working,so we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come. Her name is Ingrid and she was nice and helpful. Our room was spacious, with a massive, but un needed hallway. Off the hallway was the bathroom,it had a walk in shower. The shower was great, but leaked a bit as did the hose by the toilet. The toilet seat fell off and the hairdryer didn't work. The room was lovely, with a comfy big bed, there was also a table,a small kitchenette,we were promised a welcome pack, which never arrived. There was a good sized wardrobe, with a safe. The room had a balcony on to the street, which was nice. Unfortunately there isn't a kettle in the kitchen,so we boiled a pan if water. We ran out of toilet rolls and we had to wait nearly two days. There wasn't a shop close,so when I went to a restaurant,I had to take some from a restaurant. The hotel is more further out than we would have liked. The breakfast was a good standard and had to be booked the day before. All the staff were great and helpful.

Finally a hotel (residence) which offers the pleasure of living it! Beautifully done with spacious rooms all with a touch of elegance. Offers good desk to work off and beautiful bathroom - definitely a place to keep in high consideration of and when you travel to Trapani in Sicily!
