    The staff was great, the rooms were spacious and very nice. The breakfast service was excellent. It only has 11 rooms, so it is not very busy which created a quiet environment. The location was perfect for our family as it was centrally located to the downtown tourist area and historical venues. We highly recommend staying at this hotel

    This was our first time in Palermo and we are very happy with the decision to stay at the Massimo Plaza hotel. We had a car and while the hotel is located in the historic district they were very helpful lining up a spot at an excellent parking garage 2 blocks away. The decor of the hotel is somewhat dated but cool in an old school kind of way. The people at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. Our room overlooked a very busy street and piazza but with the shutters closed sleeping was not a problem. Our balcony gave us a great view of all the action down below and a terrific view of the Theater. Breakfast was fantastic. The service all around was great.

    Hotel Massimo (Palermo) - fabulous! Well appointed room with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. Bathrobes and slippers. Daily breakfast (included in the room rate) delivered to the room when you want, and delivered on time (you order the night before). You have a choice of savory or sweet breakfast and cereals. Juice, fruit and coffee included. Fresh towels every day. There's a nice sitting area off the main desk with a full bar. The hotel is right across the street from the opera house (teatro Massimo), within walking distance of all the attractions, good restaurants and shopping. It was easy to get a cab to the train station when we checked out. All the staff speak excellent English. Nights were quiet.

    This is the second time we have stayed here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, central and directly opposite the Opera House. Breakfast was simple but good, you had to book a table for breakfast as there are only three tables, this wasn't a problem for us but haven't come across this before.

    A small boutique hotel in the heart of Palermo old quarter

    The rooms are all comfortable and well equipped. We had the Superior double room, which provided us with plenty of space, beautiful light and authentic Italian decoration as well as a superb view on the theatre and its square. Bedding is comfortable. The breakfast is generous, offering products of good quality; it is usually served in the rooms but can also be served in the small lounge room upon request. The hotel is quite old and would benefit from some refurbishment; notably the carpet around windows and the bathrooms are in need of renovation to do justice to the four stars evaluation. The staff has impressed us by their professionalism and attention to the individual guests, always courteous and helpful.
