Location

The hotel benefits from a privileged, central location. It is situated only 2 km from the historical centre and the train station, and 5 km from the motorway (Siracusa-Catania). The hotel overlooks the main archaeological zone of Siracusa, which includes the Greek Theatre, Ear of Dionysus, Archimedes' tomb and the rope-makers cave. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Tears and the Paolo Orsi Museum are both within close proximity of the hotel, whilst the beautiful and historical centre of Ortigia, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is within a short walk. The hotel is 40 minutes from Catania Fontanarossa Airport.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 93 rooms, including 2 suites, 15 single rooms and 48 double rooms, located in two 6-storey buildings with lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day.     Great location for the famous archaeology sites and museum, all of which are less than 5 minutes walk away. It is a 25 minute walk into Ortiga, but on balance the location of the Mecure is better and you avoid the high price and tourist restaurants in the Ortiga area (Ortiga itself is worth a day's visit)iLovely atmosphere and friendly staff, with good rooms and a lovely SPA. The hotel was very clean and quiet with good access to the Bus routes for tours to nearby towns, which we used several timesRestaurants is very good value and the food is high quality with attentive staffHighly recommendedWhilst all staff were helpful, would just like to say an extra special thank you to Simone his team on the front desk for their help with the transfers and tours; to Marco in the SPA and of course Daniele and his great team in La Terrazza di Lucille

    We had a warm welcome at reception but our room was extremely small and we had some issues with the safe. Breakfast was good with local dishes. However we ordered some drinks in the early evening which were less good. The location is good for the ruins less so for the island.     Modern chain hotel. Clean, friendly, professional and comfortable. We stayed two nights and had a front facing room. Around 20 -30 minutes walk from old town - cathedral. Great breakfast. Would recommend and stay again.

    The hotel is close to the Roman ruins. It is also within walking distance to the Syracuse island. Several excellent restaurants nearby.
