    The country house is in its second season and perhaps because of its small size is limited on the facilities, attention to detail and service one might expect (particularly given that it holds the Planeta name). The rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms have lovely toiletries and towels are soft and sand coloured, a refreshing change from stark white. There is no food service during the day and evening meals are restricted to a meat or cheese platters and chefs selection of antipasti, which was tasty and varied. We had to ask for the water in the dining room to be refilled during the day and it felt like requesting a daytime drink was a chore. Perhaps the expectation is that guests drive to their Insula beach club 20 minutes away which had superb food and relaxing seats under the pine trees. Given the tranquil scenic outdoor area and peaceful pool setting the country house is perhaps missing a trick. An honesty bar or a small menu of easily prepared light bites during the day and some sweet treats and gelato would mean guests didn’t need to drive elsewhere. A shuttle service to the beach club or their Forestiere restaurant would be a nice touch, as it’s hard to sample the Sicilian wines when you need to drive! Perhaps some staff training to empower them to approach guests and prepare refreshments would increase their hospitality skills. Often staff are sat in reception which irks a little when the water dispenser is empty!

    Stayed for a night.Location cute. Service to be improved and rather untrained team. Breakfast very very limited choices. The estate is home to many birds, which is lovely however the owners of the estate did not close the roof of the house properly from outside hence between the walls etc. birds are nesting which equals like living in a birdcage - especially in the evenings and mornings sleeping was impossible.Pool needs some fixing.

    where shall i start … we had an absolutely relaxing stay at beautiful la segreta / the team was very welcoming, lovely and competent / we enjoyed each and every meal, loved the authentic dinner menu! and the wine, of course ,-) / we went for the room with the big terrace and it was so worth it… for we stayed for a whole week … oh yes, and let’s not forget about the beautiful design and setting of the whole place. .-) / also, don’t miss out on the beach club… beautiful setting with nice food … it’s nicely complimenting la segreta / btw right outside the residence we went running although it has been really hot … loved the scenery. / big thank you to the team, really looking forward to coming back :-)

    A great place to stay, relax and experience Sicily and the beaches of Menfi

    A new hidden gem of Sicily created by the family of the renowned Planeta wine and in tune with their unique style: an elegant and relaxing country house immersed in an olive grove only a few kilometres (5 minutes by car) from the beaches of Menfi. A truly small boutique hotel with ten rooms that provides a more personalized service and where the staff is always available and attentive like providing information for the best beaches (the Planeta’s also have a beach club – Insula, you name it!) or bikes, archeological sites, etc. Breakfast is bliss with all fresh local products and home made jams plus the best granola mix ever tasted; and dinner is amazing with the chef who can make the most scrumptious fried calzoni but also the most delicious seasonal vegetables so as not to indulge too much in the excellent Sicilian food. Bedrooms and pool are super. An experience I would love to repeat by booking all of the 10 rooms with family and friends!

    We stayed at the Relais for 5 nights with our family. The place is located in a very nice area surrounded by olive trees. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff are very friendly and attended to all of our needs. We also had dinner at the Relais all throughout our stay with exceptional food which was varied every day. Breakfast also had a very good selection. Overall all I would recommend this place to visit and stay. It was a great holiday!
