    Excellent location right in the old town, with easy access and everything close by. Parking was convenient on the side street just below the entrance. The room had a beautiful mountain view, and the courtyard filled with lemon trees was a lovely touch. The elevator connecting directly to the upper part of the old town was especially convenient.     Skip this hotel. Rooms are small and the lobby is just four walls and door to street. Steep climb to enter hotel from street area.     Ragusa Ibla in January

    We visited Sicily for 10 days beginning New Year’s Eve. We stayed two nights in Ragusa Ibla at the San Giorgio Palace Hotel. It is in a great location with elevators (which is important as the hotel is built on the side of a mountain. The room was clean and modern. We got a room with a view which was a nice size and on the 6th floor. The 5th floor has a door to the old town. You will still need to walk up stairs to get to the main avenue, so be prepared (it’s worth it!) Breakfast was nice and the attendants worked to keep the tables bussed and food area neat and replenished. Parking is below the hotel and a little walk up a ramp. The hotel sent me a video that showed exactly where to park and the walk to the hotel elevator. The hotel and employees were very helpful and easy to reach by email and WhatsApp. We took a day trip to Noto which was a nice drive and beautiful town, too. If you visit in January, be prepared for most shops and restaurants to be closed. We found places for dinner both nights, but on the second night we went to 3 closed restaurants before finding one that was open. (It was delicious!)
