    Our stay at Hotel Torre Virgilio was very disappointing. The room we were given had no window, only a small high vent, something that was not mentioned when booking. The next morning, we also discovered there was no hot water. We decided to leave, but the hotel refused to refund the second night we had already paid for. Overall, the experience fell far short of what one would expect from a four-star hotel, both in terms of its facilities and the quality of customer service

    Beautiful old farmhouse type hotel. Will start with the good…Sharon the evening waitress was charming and fun, setting is quaint and peaceful. Rooms are a bit small but it’s expected. Room has everything you need otherwise. Breakfast is plentiful and in the inner courtyard…which we enjoyed immensely. Pool was big, clean and refreshing. There is a little bar area near the pool too. Ate dinner there twice and it was excellent. Now the bad. Well it’s our fault really but we booked three rooms and when we arrived, one room was a quadruple so we thought to cancel one but they said it was not possible since we had booked through booking.com. Not flexible but there you are… and the shower area itself is tiny but bathroom is large. Overall this was a lovely hotel.

    Stayed there between the 14th and 18th of July for 4 nights. The hotel is in a remote area which makes it ideal for those looking for a break. This is what we wanted. Breakfast is also good and the staff are nice and helpful.My disappointment is the restaurant. We planned to eat there; however, as soon as I saw the menu I realised that it was limited and also too expensive considering the area. We ate lunch on our last day and the lasagna served as main course was barely enough to give to my 4 year old child.All in all, it's a nice hotel and I consider staying there again due to the beautiful surroundings and cleanliness that I was able to observe. However, I believe that guests who are paying almost €200 a night deserve to at least be offered appropriate dinner and / or lunch for an adequate price.

    Torre do Virgilio Hotel gets a high five!

    We visited Torre don Virgilio Hotel in late May 2025, the weather was perfect and the stay was better than expected. There are a number of villages to visit close by. The Hotel is charming with pool, breakfast in the courtyard and dinner inside in the evenings. We had dinner there every night during our six days stay and we enjoyed it every night. Excellent staff, great breakfast, the restaurant holds really high standards and the rooms were nice even though slightly dark with small windows. We would recommend this for a chance to relax in a beautiful countryside with perfect service.

    A nice hotel but quite remote

    A lovely hotel in full countryside. We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer as it was too far from anywhere to take a stroll and have a change of scenery so we felt a little too isolated. Even Modica felt like a longer trip than we expected when we booked the hotel.The weather was good when we were there so we were able to take advantage of the pool and poolside beds and that was very nice. Our room was on the ground floor with a small terrace and easy access to the pool. The room and bathroom were well appointed but, with only minimal natural light through a small window right at the top of the door, I felt a little closed in once the door was closed.We ate in the restaurant both evenings (because it was too far to bother going anywhere else) and the service and food was good (with the exception of the soup of the day, which was just awful). Breakfast was eaten in the courtyard terrace, which was lovely, and there was a good choice.Service from all of the staff was friendly and professional.
